About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Figure out what I want to do with my life. Because, you know, that's something EVERYONE figures out, right?
ABOUT ME
I am generally happy and optimistic- although I like to think it's not to the point of stupidity.
Things I love:
I love people: I'm that girl in line behind you who strikes up a conversation with you about how cool your look is- or, really, anything, just to make the day a bit more interesting. I'm the cashier who checks back in with you after you've been sick, or had a baby, or tried a new product. I'm also the girl who will sit in the corner of dive bars by myself just watching everyone else interact. I love engaging, and I love admiring, and my friends and family mean the world to me.
I love food: of all different varieties, from different countries, different levels of complexity. While there are some things I'm not fond of (onions and I have never seen eye to eye), I am fairly adventurous, and am not about to make my picky moments someone else's problem.
I also have a pretty awesome sense of direction... just sayin'.
PHILOSOPHY
I am not religious, but I believe that things happen for a reason, and even the shittiest of moments will work out for the better.
I have strong faith in humanity & believe that people are, in essence, good.
I also am a big believer in karma, so I try to be nice and help people out constantly.
So far, these concepts have played out fairly well in my life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been a terrible slacker since I got back to the States, and would really love to get back into the swing of things here at home!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Most epic CS related memory: the Uruguayan guys my friend Cassandra & I surfed with in Dublin had an impromptu all-night party (I was exhausted, so I missed out), and throughout the night, you could hear people attempting to play their didgeridoo. That is most definitely one of the most amusing things to hear while drifting in & out of sleep.
Interests
Riding my bike
Cuddling squish-faced doggies (I have an 80lb Olde English Bulldogge)
Playing dress up
Crocheting
Acquiring odd collections of things, and then using those things to create some sort of art
- arts
- perfumes
- dining
- working out
- partying

Music, Movies, and Books
I love a good story. I don't own a TV, but I do binge watch any show that gets its hooks into me; similarly, I occasionally set aside a day to read a book from start to finish (I read the entire Harry Potter series in a [net] week, with each book in a single day, spread across the years). I can't tell you a story without going off on tangents to save my life (advance apologies), but I've got a good number of stories to tell, and I'll make you laugh, even while regaling you with my experience of being robbed at gunpoint.
Specific stories that I love include books Of Mice and Men, Eloise, and anything by Chuck Palahniuk, movies Closer, The Breakfast Club, and Gangs of New York, and the shows Game of Thrones, Archer, and Mad Men.
Music:
Of course, everyone says this, but, all kinds of music. Good music, terrible music. I love Neil Young and Massive Attack; Tool and Lady Gaga; Fiona Apple and Jay-Z. Some of my favorite chains-of-events were put into motion by my patronage of karaoke and dance bars; these bars also helped flesh out the self-confidence that people seem to think I was born with.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was on the same minuscule island as Chuck Norris once in Alaska... too bad I was seven, & didn't know who he was then.
