About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To explore as much of Europe as I can before I go back home to teach
ABOUT ME
Hello!
I'm a teacher, board gamer, martial artist, tea drinker and nerd. I've lived in the same small city my whole life, and I did the Europe in a month trip before I started uni. I raced through countries at a rate of one every two days.
It was not enough to meet the cities I was in properly, and I promised myself that when I finally finished university I would travel Europe at a slower pace, actually getting a chance to explore.
Well, here I am, and so far my time in Berlin is teaching me that the best places to go, and spend time, aren't the tourist check boxes. The best days so far have been wandering the streets, exploring the alleys, and buying ice-cream at every shop I go past.
PHILOSOPHY
I love my job and believe passionately in the cause of education, and that everyone has the right to believe what they want, as long as they don't push it on others. I'm a Christian (Lutheran), but it's deeply personal and I don't talk about it much. I may ask you to point me towards a church though.
I do judge poor punctuation.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm not sure yet, but I'd love a place to leave my bags, and someone to show me their favourite places of their home. I'm fine if I'm left to my own devices as well though. I like exploring the city, and finding the nooks and crannies that show a cities personality, (even if it's first thing in the morning, and the city hasn't put it's make up on, or had it's morning coffee yet).
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have had no Couch surfing experiences yet, but My bestie surfed around Europe, and raved about it non stop, and has hosted some pretty cool people I had the chance to meet as well.
Interests
Books- I'm a prolific reader, mostly of fantasy and sci-fi, but lately I've been trying out the classics again as well.
Ice cream- I take chilled dairy desserts very seriously.
Art (particularly graffiti)
Abandoned buildings- There's not much scope for this at home, but if a building is properly abandoned I love to explore and see the framework, what was left behind, the architecture. It's amazing.
Board games- I love these to death, and play them whenever I can. I'm a massive geek for tabletop bog box games like Catan and Carcassone.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went on a ten day voyage on a tall ship with no technology, with a crew of people aged from 16-23. We climbed the mast, let out the rigging, set the course, took the helm, and got very little sleep, but it was phenomonal.
