Overview
About Me
After a career in the diplomatic service, I went to Africa to work with NGO's. Presently I am back in my home country of the UK, in semi-retirement. But I am still addicted to travel, and the more exotic the better. Over 90 countries visited and hopefully more to come.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To make travel just that little bit more interesting by meeting people from different backgrounds and hosting visitors to my own country.
Interests
I love moving around, seeing new places (as well as re-visiting other places), and meeting friends and making new ones. Always happy to try out new cuisines especially if they come accompanied by good wines and beers. Am generally happier walking or cycling than stuck in a car.

Music, Movies, and Books
I can enjoy any type of music (well, apart from country and western!) and need to be plugged into my iPad's music library on long journeys.
Not a big movie/film fan, but quite like anything that makes me laugh or cry. Out of Africa is the only film that I watch on repeat.
Love buying and collecting books, am rather less good at reading them. But I am never without a travel journal or biography for long airport waits.
