À propos de moi

I'm always working on projects and adventures, and can never stop thinking about what's next and how to get there. I've been working for a few years as an R&D Engineer following my Masters, and am now looking to get back to travelling and bigger adventures. My current plan is to bike from Venice to Athens with several friends, then sail from the Canary Islands to the Caribbean, across the Atlantic.

Adventures and projects that typically occupy my time include sailing trips, climbing trips, music festivals, shirt making, photography, music, and being outdoors. I'm always looking for how I can take these hobbies and turn them into my life. If you've figured out how, please let me know!

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I believe in helping others who are travelling to feel like they are home. There's no better way to get to know an area than spending time with someone who lives there. I've spent some time hosting when I lived by myself, hosting as many travelers as I could, and I've surfed a little bit in the Dandora suburb of Nairobi.

I've been on hiatus while I lived with a girlfriend who didn't welcome strangers, and a house that was too full to have guests, but now I'm setting out and travelling again and hoping to meet some wonderful surfers and locals who can give me advice and a roof to sleep under while I travel.

Centres d'intérêt

I'm very active in a lot of physical activities such as biking, climbing, and sailing, and a lot of creative interests such as photography, writing, and music. When the two overlap, I'm at my happiest. Writing about a day spent photographing climbers is pretty much ideal for me.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Any indie music is great, but I like a wide range of genres including hip-hop, rock, electronic, folk, and ambient.

I rarely watch movies, but I have a few classics that I love.

I read a lot of classic literature and travel writing and love to get recommendations.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

After my undergrad, I lived and worked on an island in Western Kenya for 4 months. I was farming for a while, then ended up running a construction project, completing a community centre. I still remember coming home every day after working, and jumping in the lake to bathe before cooking fresh caught tilapia and rice on fresh mangoes.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

Sailing is my strongest teaching ability as I've been doing it all my life and love to take someone who's never been out on a boat and show them the joy of sailing.

I've always loved learning music and guitar from other people because you can learn a lot about somebody by the music they play and come up with.

Sharing experience is the most important for me. It's how we make and strengthen relationships and how we can measure our lives.

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

Tons of stories from adventures both completed and planned, along with encouragement and an attitude to go out and have their own adventures.
