About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meeting more people = enjoying life more = broadening ones outlook

ABOUT ME

I am now single, still working long hours in the Accommodation Industry- passionate traveller, I have made many freinds overseas and now having their kids visit me - a generational thing now
I enjoy travel, people, eating out, reading and gardening ( although I have a bush garden )

PHILOSOPHY

I beleive we are put on this earth to be good to other human beings- to support, love, care for, have fun with, develop relationships, and contribute to this world we call home

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have a couch for anyone with references- happy to show you the Hunter Valley which I am passionate about
However you will have Free time as I do still work

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None officially through this site- I have found numerous freinds overseas and now stay with them- and Heh- now they send their kids to stay- so I guess you could say I have an informal couching relationship with lots already- Italy, Germany, France, Belgium

Interests

For example 20 years ago I met two german in a hotel in Sydney- they are life long freinds now and visit me in Australia every year- every second year I visit them
25 years ago i met a lovely lady in Strasborg ( France) at the railway station there- ended up staying on her couch ( literally) we are still the best of freinds- she sends me people to stay, and allow me to proudly show her guests( and mine) Australia

and on it goes ........ Through some other german people I ended up sponsoring a Russian family to emigrate to Australia on a refugee visa

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - old fashioned in that respect- warm heart stories, history, biographies
Music- almost anything but classical and 50's, 60's music- ( heh I was in my teen years then)
Books - Australian authors McCulloch, Courtney, Nunn - autobiographers ( politicans, humanitarians, sports people - you name it)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Helicopter ride around New York
Passenger with pilot flight into the Grand canyon
Drive and trained around France several times
Watched my best german mate come second in the Sydney Paraolympic wheelchair marathon( he still holds the Olympic record time in this event)

Teach, Learn, Share

Knowledge of the Hunter and Australia generally
Good common knowledge
Great listener
