About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'd like to share what I have and meet new friends.

ABOUT ME

I am nearly 53 years old; mother of one daughter and granny to one amazing, creative granddaughter. I am recently widowed (a year ago). I have worked at the same company for more than 30 years and live in the house where I grew up. I love to travel and make friends. It takes me a minute to get over the shyness (and I mean a minute, maybe two), but then I'm probably too talkative. I genuinely enjoy hearing others' stories and adventures. I have a good life and am blessed with so many people who love me. I'm grateful.

PHILOSOPHY

Wow. I think this might be too difficult for me to express. I feel like I can do small things that make the world a better place. I want to leave a legacy of kindness and encouragement and love. There you have it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't yet participated. I hope to host soon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Before I ever knew about couch surfing, I spent five weeks traveling in England and Scotland, crashing in the homes of people I had met on AOL! It was a great experience and I'll never be sorry I did it.

Interests

I scuba dive (mostly in tropical waters). I enjoy having friends over and, of course, travel. Enjoy listening to others play music. I am a really good granny. I pride myself on my friendships. I have friends that I met when I was four years old! I do work hard to stay in touch and be a good friend.

Music, Movies, and Books

Steve Earle, Grateful Dead, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Bluegrass, Blues, honestly, I have a varied taste in music. Except for Rap and Techno. I mostly enjoy dramas as far as movies go. Haven't been to the movies much lately. Favorite stories: Pollyanna, Great Expectations, any travelling stories. Once I read a book called "Dishwasher Pete." Good read. Recently I read "Little Princes: One Man's Promise to Bring Home the Lost Children of Nepal." It was beautiful and inspiring.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've had a good life so far. I've been through some struggles, but mostly I have been blessed with the inner strength and support from people who love me. I would say the births of my daughter and granddaughter first. Learning to dive with my late husband and diving with the graceful sharks in the Bahamas and in the Cenotes in Mexico. Never thought I would experience such peace and calmness.
