About Me

CURRENT MISSION

looking to expand my musical experience

ABOUT ME

I am a sensible person who loves to have a good time and am always down to meet new people. I have an open mind, have worked as a medical transcriptionist, a caretaker of mentally handicapped children, a bank teller, a janitor, and now I am a caregiver for senior citizens so they can stay home instead of going to some shoddy nursing home. I am from Northern California and I go to the University of New Mexico. I originally started playing guitar covers of the Beatles, Pixies, Pink Floyd, Modest Mouse, and some others while I was taking Pre-med courses. i recently changed my course of study and now it is Singing opera. I have recently was given the oppurtunity to play the part of Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro at the International Lyric Academy in Viterbo, Italy. I am very excited about this opportunity and would like to learn as much about Rome and Viterbo as I can while there. I get along with most everyone and usually make lasting friendships. I have a lot of patience, love, and music to share with the world and want to experience as much as I can in as many different places and ways as I can before it is too late because life is too short. I have a great time partying, drinking, and socializing at bars and clubs often but I make it a huge point in my life to be VERY respectful of others and their space/rules.

Please listen to some of the music I have written in the past, see more pictures, and get to know me a little better here. http://www.myspace.com/grantdayley

PHILOSOPHY

I live to love the human beings around me.
To learn from the human mistakes I make.
To take care of those in need.
To work hard.
To party hard.
To sing from my soul.
To experience life in its fullest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

This is my first time on this website and I am excited about what may happen in the future. If it works out, I will be a participant forever.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I needed a place to stay for a while and was able to just crash on my buddy's couch for a few weeks. These few weeks were some of the best roommate experiences as we partied together, barbecued, and got to know each-other better. I was very appreciative just for having a place to stay and I would like to be able to share this experience with other people.

Interests

I like to drink beer and wine, go out to bars, singing, playing guitar, acting, listening to all kinds of music, hiking, camping, swimming, snowboarding, river rafting, sports, driving, eating good food, having family dinner, conversations about life in general, dreaming, daydreaming, feeling good, laughing until I cry and my cheeks hurt the next day, helping people, sitting on the beach at night in the full moon, climbing trees, sitting around a fire, stars, sunsets, clouds, lakes, etc. etc. etc....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The life all around us is absolutely amazing to me. The trees, animals, huge mountains, glaciers, waterfalls, sunsets, sunrises, the blue moon from the middle of the woods on the side of a river only accessible by white water rafting, meteor showers, amazing people...being alive.

Teach, Learn, Share

exchanging guitar songs and teach chords on guitar, sing to my hosts and hostesses or guests and maybe do some very basic voice training. We could write a song together. I can buy food, beer, and wine to share.
