About Me

I'm a huge nerd. For pretty much everything though, so I've dabbled in a lot of different nerdy micro-cultures (I like saying that more than 'subcultures'). I'm also nerdy when it comes to school and learning. If you have a passion, I would love for you to share it so that I can learn. I'm passionate about systems thinking and big picture things like 'the sustainability of humans on Earth' and about technology and new ideas. Recently I've been thinking a lot about human evolution going forward.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I created my account in 2016 while circumnavigating the globe (okay, I wasn't piloting anything just taking flights). Then and now, I want to meet cool people and live affordably. I think it's a bit selfish, but I really like observing and learning from other people. Though, I am also happy to share, especially when a genuine interest is expressed :)

Now, I live nomadically, work fully remote and couch surfing is a way of life. I often stay with friends and family, but I'm here updating my profile as I try to meet new people within my own country!

Interests

Huge neophile; if I've never tried it before, count me in. I'm also very into games of all varieties, especially board games, card games and puzzles. I used to play a lot of video games as well, but it has been a little while since I was super into them. Being outdoors and active is always a good time. Hiking, swimming, canoeing, climbing, backpacking/camping, cycling and kayaking are some of my favorites, but really, I enjoy all outdoor activities.

I'm also into learning, especially learning about other cultures and languages as I travel.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lots of sci-fi and fantasy for the books and movies. But really I like most movies from documentaries to horror to action to romance. Books I stick to things that are sci-fi or fantasy or that have good literary reviews or that are recommended to me.

I can listen to and enjoy almost any music, but I most prefer classical and electronica. Madeon and Daft Punk are among my favorites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hard to say what one considers amazing. I've been sky diving, scuba diving and bungee jumping (and would like to try base jumping, but I think that requires more training :) I've hiked up to 4800 meters. I've swam over a mile several times.

Teach, Learn, Share

Um, I think the rest of my profile covers it. I'm willing to learn anything you're interested in sharing/teaching and I'm willing to share/teach anything you ask about :)
