About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living well.

ABOUT ME
I'm traveling Asia after spending two years teaching English in Busan, South Korea.

I graduated with a degree in film, I'm a feminist/womanist, fond of being outside when it's nice, DIY, interested in almost anything.

I'm a handy artistic/musical intellectual and empath.

I'm good at asking questions of people.

PHILOSOPHY:

Treat everyone you meet like a traveler.

Be truly honest as often as possible, make/do beautiful things, be deeply happy, waste as little as possible (opportunities, food, time). Though I'm trying to also be more flexible with this. Sometimes wasting time is ok.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed.
I've hosted.
I've traveled.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I once surfed two nights in Hilo, Hawai'i with a bunch of pirate vikings who, on the night we arrived, were simultaneously rewiring their house and having a party. They had a gangly puppy and made their own mead. BALLIN'

Interests

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On O'ahu, off the Makapu'u lookout, there's this side-hike to a semisecret group of blowholes called the Dragon's Nostrils. It necessitated a 400-foot vertical scramble to the beach, where there was this lava bench with these beautiful little rock pools.....the Dragon's Nostrils were scary, though, especially because I went by myself. It seriously sounded like a large beast underground, breathing and periodically getting angry. The whole mountainside looked like Mordor, too--no vegetation on the windward side. Eerie. Awesome.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a bit about filmmaking and storytelling. If you'd like to make a movie, I'm your right-hand woman...

I worked three years in a scene shop, building sets for plays in my school's theater department. Thus, I know how to use shop tools - saws, drills, staple guns, along with the basics of welding.

I'd like to learn more about food production and where it comes from and how it's made - cooking, baking, gardening.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Canada, China, Iceland, Japan, Puerto Rico, Thailand, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

South Korea, United States
