About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Survive Barcelona.
ABOUT ME
I'm originally from the southwestern US and after living four years in chilly Reykjavík, I’m currently based in Barcelona. I occasionally still write for a magazine called Reykjavík Grapevine. I edited a book that was published in 2015: http://jadedibispress.com/product/mutilations-on-a-theme/. I published another book, called The Sagas and Shit, in 2019: https://shop.grapevine.is/products/book-the-sagas-and-shit-grayson-del-faro!
PHILOSOPHY
"Y así, por mí, la libertad y el mar / responderán al corazón oscuro." - Pablo Neruda
"So much human cruelty is simply incidental is simply brainless. Simply no common sense. You could take the entirety of the common sense of humans and put it in the palm of your hand and still have room for your dick." - Anne Carson
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've surfed my way through India, Denmark, Argentina, and Chile, and I have hosted a few travelers in the US and Iceland since.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I met some of the most amazing, interesting, and incredible people as hosts while I was in India, many of whom helped me out of or avoid entirely some unfortunate situations. I've also made a good friend in Denmark who has hosted me twice. You can find some of the best people in the world on this website.
Interests
I like books, beer, food, nature, travel, film, music, animals, learning, exploring, and fun things. I create, read, collect, and talk about books the most.

Music, Movies, and Books
Usual favorites are Erykah Badu, Janelle Monáe, Bomba Estéreo, Tokimonsta, Björk, Kiasmos, Ólafur Arnalds. Favorite films are by Miranda July, Darren Aronofsky, and Guillermo del Toro. Favorite books are by Anne Carson, D. A. Powell, Daniel Handler, Gerður Kristný, and Sjón. Anything weird or unusual or brilliant.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seeing Gangetic river dolphins from a boat in the Indian Sundarbans, seeing my oars flaming underwater as I kayaked through a bioluminescent bay off the coast of Puerto Rico, and seeing the northern lights dance in Iceland, and watching a peregrine falcon catch a parakeet and carry it off in Torres Del Paine in Chile.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach me how to say hello, thanks, and cheers in your language. Or maybe something naughty.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can teach you how to knit or make el arroz con gandules de la abuela.
