About Me

I'm a travel-crazy Dane who changed tracks in 2012 when I started creating my own way as a travel writer.
I love exploring countries and getting to know new cities, and not at least to meet the locals in these places - whether they're true locals or "adopted" :) Besides my safe Scandinavian home, I've been living abroad in the wild wild Wales and in the buzzing capital of Spain, and now I'm practically homeless while travelling for new material and inspiration.

You can read about my past and present travel adventures at www.travelooneyblog.com

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since I joined this site many years ago, I've always loved the concept of Couchsurfing, though I didn't actually 'surf' myself before 2015. I have stayed with a bunch of foreign friends throughout Europe during the years, but it's different to get invited by a total stranger - it's a beautiful thing we all can learn from, and I'm looking forward to welcome travellers in my own home one day (once I have one again).

Interests

My big passion is travel writing, and I also love reading travel books and magazines, and I could spend days in bookstores' travel sections. I also love photography, and to go photo-hunting with my camera.

With my background in graphics, I still love graphic design, street art and contemporary art, and love to discover new amazing artists while travelling or online.

I love rollerskating as well as ice skating and I have been playing recreational icehockey for 13 seasons - and I miss the game a lot when travelling and living abroad.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC
I have a broad taste in music and appreciate many different genres, but my favourites are folk and singer/songwriters like Passenger and John Mayer.

MOVIES
I'm never really good remembering all movies I've seen, so I'll add to the list along the way: Into The Wild, The Words, Amélie, The Intouchables, Before Sunset, Before Sunrise, Before Midnight, The Shawshank Redemption, Coming To America, Back To The Future........

BOOKS
I love travel tales like 'Into The Wild' (Jon Krakauer), 'The Wrong Way Home' (Peter Moore), 'Twitchhiker' (Paul Smith) and just started reading 'A Walk In The Woods' (Bill Bryson). I love writers with a comic twist and my favourite is the guy behind 'Yes Man', Danny Wallace. And though it might be 'main stream' I love the Dan Brown books too.
