ABOUT ME
I grew up on a farm in northern Vermont. I have studied, lived, and worked in South America, the United Kingdom, Japan, and New Zealand. Within the United States, I spent 2 years doing conservation work based out of Seattle, and am currently a graduate student in California. I like exchanging stories, cooking vegan dishes, and will happily play a piano if it's there.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I currently live in California and am happy to host travelers. In the long run, I have high hopes to turn the old farmhouse in Vermont into a haven for those light of foot.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I often stay through my existing network of friends or just wing it and have found lots of places to stay over the past decade. Still, I've had good experiences through this site and Warm Showers.
Interests
Hiking, biking, and swimming. Baking bread and cooking. Spoken word, stories, and diving deep into a book. A good pint of beer. Swing dance.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'll read anything from the Hunger Games to Moby Dick. I'm also a social theory nerd. My favorite flick in recent years is Beasts of the Southern Wild.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I filmed a documentary on rural Bolivian adolescence in 2005.
