About Me
The last time I updated this profile it read "Finally finished my master in physics. PhD, here I come! Yehaaaaw XD". Time really flies by when you're enjoying your research...
CURRENT MISSION
I'm currently married to this strange girl called M. Y. Thesis. We're spending way too much time together and I think about getting a divorce by the end of April. Then I'll be free again to enjoy life to the fullest :)
ABOUT ME
A modest guy of extremes, in a kinda positive way.
Studied physics, but be assured, I'm no geek and I'm quite comfortable with it. And, yes!, I hate questions beginning with: "Hey, you're a physicist, surely you do know..." I haven't even seen a single episode of The Big Bang Theory yet ;)
I love nature and fell in love with the mountains. Doesn't matter if it's hiking or climbing, I like it, I love it, I can't get enough :)
I do or tried lots of different sports and I am always eager to experience new stuff.
For the rest of it: if you take a quick look at my pictures you will get a better image of me or maybe you could even take a glimpse inside my head...
Also, I'm a vegetarian and used to be a vegan for several years, with everything that comes along with that diet, like superpowers and that kind of stuff.
Nah, of course not, and be assured I'm not like one of those veggies who are always trying to change YOUR diet. It's more like the usual experience I get when having a barbecue with my brother: "Sorry, I covered your vegetables with my steak, hehe." - "Okay, if you turn around your steak, don't forget to flip my stuff to the other side too."
So, you order your Steak, I'll stick to the salad and we're all happy and enjoying ourselves. :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Fueling peoples wanderlust all the time...
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Hosted and surfed already, enjoyed both. What I enjoy? Here's a copy&paste of a reference I left for 2 surfers:
'Originally I was just hosting them as a sort of back-up plan, but after spending 2 hours with them my flatmate and I decided to host them for another night (that was after him being all like "Could you please ask me in advance the next time you host surfers?") Well, eventually they stayed for 3 nights, so you can probably image how much we liked them ;)'
Interests
I love sports, especially those where you either need a trustworthy buddy or those where you just enjoy yourselves in a big group of crazy people... And - surprise, surprise! - I really do hate soccer by heart! Also I shouldn't forget to include my inline-skates. They're all flashing and glowing and shining at night. And yeah, there are sheep on them too!
I love travelling, but unfortunately I haven't seen that many places yet. Good thing is, I haven't missed that much, there is only yet more to see.
I love my hammock(s) and since I've got no own bed for almost half a year I enjoyed sleeping in one of those every night. Crazy? No. Comfy? Hell, yeah :)
Guess what, I also love combining those three. So, I pack in my bag my slackline. I pack in my bag my slackline and my hammock. I pack in my bag my slackline, my hammock and... just head out to somewhere!

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: mostly fantasy, but also good ol' writers of the 19th century. Probably the most enjoyed works were written by Hugo, Poe, Martin and Steven Erikson. The best book ever written still is and will forever be Les Misérables by Victor Hugo. Period.
Music: to a great extent metal and rock of all variations, but always trying to look beyond my own nose. Really depending on some factors, but nowadays there's almost no music I couldn't enjoy, given the right mood and ambience.
Movies: nah, not really. Okay, I sometimes go to the cinemas, but most times books are better. Try adapting my living fantasy into a movie. Good luck ^^
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spending a night at an observatory on a mountain peak. Freezing cold, but still awesome :)
