ABOUT ME

Our goal at Greensong Sanctuary is to create a thriving community centered on the integration of permacultural concepts, natural building, organic animal husbandry, raw and gourmet food preparation, artistic expression and self cultivation. We believe that all facets of life can be approached as a form of artistic expression and that it is important for us to live in the fullness of our human potential.

We are a non-profit-- our commitment is to the well being of the land and its inhabitants. Our goal is to create an abundance for future generations that is independent of the monetary system. Our services include wellness, sustainability, music, film and fine arts. As a non-profit any money we make goes toward developing infrastructure so we can continue to expand our services.

GreenSong ranges from the Slocan River to Perry's Ridge and includes: an acre of gardens, two large barns, a four seasons greenhouse and a farmhouse for seminars and classes. We are currently building an alternative structure connected to the greenhouse with logs from our forest, that is to be used to house volunteers. It is our intention to sustain our needs on the land while providing for the greater community as well.

As a conscious collective we are inspired to create change from within. Growing and learning with the seasons, step by step we experiment with and implement ways of living conducive to sustainability and wellness. Honoring nature and our relationship to it we focus our efforts on co-creating a space of love for all.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We seek elfish individuals conducive to the vision who are willing to take part in our many endeavors at Green Song Sanctuary. We are looking for elves with a wide range of skills who want to participate in and experience the development of community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Elf members of our community have plenty of wonderful experiences through couchsurfing all over the planet.

Interests

Here at Greensong Sanctuary our goal is to integrate permaculture, natural building, organic animal husbandry, raw and gourmet food preparation, artistic expression and self cultivation. Our construction focus includes hands-on experience with many natural building styles. Projects include: building habitats for the residents, outdoor kitchens, outdoor showers, composting toilets, in-earth root cellar, plastering the outside of our farmhouse with papercrete. This year we are building a hobbit house style post and beam structure which is directly connected on the north side of our four seasons two-story greenhouse. The building will share heat from a very large rocketstove which runs through the soil of the greenhouse. We are also expanding our gardens, saving seeds and looking to develop the food forest on our 160 acre hillside.

A Hobbit House Style Multiple Structure Natural Building Project

Round wood post and beam structures with a combination of stone foundation and earth bag techniques connected to a 3 story greenhouse. The greenhouse contains a 10 inch diameter rocketstove that we will be working on as well.
