Overview
About Me
I'm a wedding photographer based in Cape Town married with 2 kids. I'm 46 and not quite ready to settle down to a life of TV and remote controls... No longer a teenager but far from finished.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I travel every now and again for weddings and there is nothing worse than twiddling your thumbs in a hotel room. I'd rather make something of that foreign place by meeting new people.
Interests
Music very wide variety.
Mountain biking, Ice skating ( which I seldom do these days) Ice hockey, Skiing I was born in the wrong country, we don't really have skiing here. Making stuff, all kinds of stuff whether it be messing around with Raspberry Pi projects to light modifiers for my flashes to installing my own solar power at home... drives my poor wife nuts!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: 80's (Big surprise there) but really love Deep House! Then a massive "classic" variety, Pink Floyd, Rodriguez, Yello, LMFAO and anything that grooves without ridiculous lyrics or profanity... not because I'm old but because lyrics like that are infantile.
Movies: Snatch, Gross Point Blank, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Me Myself & Irene, Death at a Funeral, Wall-e, Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption, Lock Stock, Paul
TV: Game of Thrones, Community, Miranda, Breaking Bad, Dexter, Californication, Cougar Town, Friends, Green Wing, Walking Dead, Vikings, Plebs
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One is hard, I've done a few thanks to my camera.
Been part of a Rhino "tagging" through work as a photographer I ended up on a wildlife fund raising initiative to save our rhino's. We assisted rangers in darting and tagging two rhino... very cool experience.
Swam in the "devils pool" at Victoria falls, the falls die down in the off-season, enough to walk on the edge in some places, someone found a pool 1m from the edge, on the other side it's a 10 story drop of sheer rocks...pretty scary if you think about it.
Seen all the big 5 in person, something I think or children's children will only get to do on TV or in zoos... I've never seen wild dogs, that's on my list.
Sat on an African elephants knee...as one does.
Walked with lions ( those things are way more scary than they look!)
