Chi sono

I grew up just outside of a small town called Wingham where I was raised on my family farm. I grew up playing sports, doing theatre, working on the farm, tinkering with cars and tractors and even trying my hand at learning to play guitar (still learning), so it's accurate to say I've dabbled in a lot of different interests.
Started travelling way back in high school (2007) when our school out together a trip to Italy, and I've been travelling (or trying to) as much as I can since. Most recently I traveled with a hockey team to Spain and Czech Republic in November 2018.

I currently work as a General Manager in a small pub in Toronto. I also try my hand at photography and writing in what little spare time I have outside of work and multiple hockey teams I play for. All for fun of course.

I would say I'm quite laid back, real easy going. I tend to keep to myself for the most part. That's just a little bit about me. I'm an open book so if there's any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

A combination of the experience of meeting people, making new friends, getting to see places I normally wouldn't see doing the 'typical tourist' thing.
I was little hesitant to give this a shot but I've heard lots of positive things from some of my friends that have traveled and I feel like it could only be a good experience!

Interessi

Sports - Played all levels of ice hockey from recreational right up to semi-pro. Since ending my competitive career with injuries, I've enjoyed playing rec/beer leagues and teaching kids and adults about the sport. I play in a co-ed league in Toronto where there are players of all different skill sets. It's the most fun hockey I've played. It's an artists league with a majority of players either just starting out playing hockey, or are still relatively new to the sport. Playing, coaching and encouraging certain players has kind of reinvigorated my love of the game, and it's especially fun to watch certain individuals reach certain goals or realizing certain potentials they never thought they could on the ice. One of my favorite experiences with hockey by far. I also play for a couple other fun, but more competitive teams. One of which just loves to travel to far off locations for tournaments. Most recently was Prague in Czech Republic. With that trip I crossed something off of my bucket list, and that was to someday play hockey in Europe!
I grew up playing other sports like Soccer and Rugby as well. Soccer mainly I played wing back or keeper.

Farming - Grew up raising mainly goats, sheep and horses. Always had chickens running around.

Good beer - It's easy to say someone likes beer.. but that even covers the cheaply made swill that most people drink just for the sake of drinking alcohol (i.e. Coors, Bud, Stella, Molson etc, etc). There are a ton of great tasting beers out there, playing with different fruit or nut notes, sours, stouts (Guinness is king all day). Also being a manager of a small pub, you tend to 'sample' a lot of different craft and small batch brews.

Dogs - Are the absolute best.
