About Me

I'm a man of many passions: Trumpet, music in general, dancing, cooking, conversation, travel (obviously), potato products, hiking, writing, reading, pretty much everything that makes life delicious. I've been in a touring band for the past 9 years and its taken me to some very cool places with some great people. I'm always looking for new adventures and new ways to appreciate this amazing world we live in. I'm personally new to the site but I've used Couchsurfing before when my sister and I backpacked around Europe for 2 months in 2012.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've done hostels, hotels, motels, camping, and I've found the best, most rewarding way to experience a new place is through the people that call it home. Through Couchsurfing I've made some really good friends and I'm excited to make more!

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a very open mind. If its art of good quality I will consume it. That said here are some favorites -
Music: Vulfpeck, The Isley Brothers, Mac DeMarco, Prince
Movies: Die Hard, City of God, Braveheart, Austin Powers, Life is Beautiful, The Godfather I & II
Books: Everything by Haruki Murakami, Everything by Neil Gaiman, Watchmen, Siddartha

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have lots of stories to tell but here's one of my favorites: My band was playing in Washington DC on election night, 2008. When we found out Barack Obama won, we ran down to the White House and played for the huge crowd that was celebrating. We then led a parade of thousands of people down Pennsylvania Avenue. It was a special moment in our history, and to feel that close to it was really amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot about music, how it works, its history, its effects, etc. I have a lot of scattered knowledge on a lot of subjects so ask me anything! I love learning pretty much anything I can wrap my mind around but languages and their roots especially interest me. I will share whatever I can!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will gladly play some trumpet for you, cook, draw a picture, recommend some cool music, tell corny jokes, engage in philosophical conversation, whatever!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Canada, Croatia, Germany, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Serbia, Slovenia
