About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to paint the world! Or many parts of it.

ABOUT ME
I'm a one-of-a-kind agnostic pacifist vegetarian artist, gardener, and practitioner of simple-living. Plus a soft-spoken eccentric reader, hiker, and bicyclist who thinks too much for his own good. And, since August 2014, I've been working in Stuart's little History Museum.

PHILOSOPHY

You really want to hear this? I'm trying to (1) harm nothing, (2) learn everything, and (3) return some of what I've learned in the various forms of art and human interaction.
I try to do as little environmental damage as possible, and if I had the capability I'd end war everywhere. But as it is, I just tend my garden.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've now stayed with several people, and I believe that this could open a whole new world of traveling.

Interests

I'm a realistic painter, most often of landscapes, most often in watercolor. I grow about 1/3 of what I eat. I limit my income so as to never pay the taxes that fund warfare (which is no real challenge to an artist), and thus live in voluntary poverty.

Music, Movies, and Books

The book that has most influenced me would have to be "Walden" by H. D. Thoreau, followed by Dr. Seuss' "Horton Hears a Who". Beyond that, what I read is all over the map, and sometimes off of it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A full day's hike along a ridge near the continental divide in Glacier National Park, with one of my brothers, without the burden of a backpack, after 2 days backpacking to that ridge. It was like visiting another world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I sometimes teach a little drawing, painting, and art history on the side, but am uncertain how much effect it's had.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Denmark, Macedonia, Mexico, Montenegro, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
