About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To be the first person to intergalactic couch surf
ABOUT ME
Hi. I'm Greg. Don't drink or smoke. Like dogs and cats and most of them like me back within a few minutes of meeting. I don't watch tv or listen to radio because I don't like being told how to think or what to buy etc. I've been in Austin for several years, so if you're new to Austin or haven't been here before I can show you a variety of interesting things -- or at least point you in the right direction -- and if you need a couch to crash on I have a good one.
PHILOSOPHY
This life. This day. Everyone counts or no one counts. One world or none. Let's go everywhere!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I believe in principals of exchange and balance -- i.e. you get what you give. And if you don't give much you shouldn't expect much in return. With this in mind I'm hosting and surfing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Up to this point my couch surfing and hosting experiences consist largely of friends of friends.
Interests
Live music. Good food. Exploring new places- both indoors and outdoors. Writing. Photography.

Music, Movies, and Books
A wide variety of things. I nominate this as the official couch surfing theme song. Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YG2SgGTrz4
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went snorkelling over/near a shipwreck in Roatan, Honduras earlier this year. I participated in a campaign to get a conscientious objector (who refused deployment to Afghanistan) released from prison -- and he was ultimately released several months before his sentence was over. I'm proud to say I had a (small) part in that. I also played with legendary drummer Buddy Miles a bunch of times when I was a kid -- and that was pretty cool too. Okay, I cheated, that's three things.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've been playing guitar for 20 years and I'm happy to sit down and show anyone a few things to give their playing skills a boost or give beginners a some building blocks to work with. I've been in Austin for ten years and know a fair amount about its history.
