About Me

COUCHSURFING IS A SOCIAL NETWORK, NOT AN APP! It's rewarding if you are willing to invest time and care in it.

Hi,

Very happy to meet other CS'ers and show them fair Ptown. Please read the "Philosophy" section of my profile before sending me a request.

About me: Recently returned to the U.S. after many years abroad. Simple, easy-going, environmental, vegan, gay guy. I'm a political and high-tech geek. I've lived in the U.S., Mexico, Brazil, Spain, Canada and Portugal .

I'm pretty easy going and really enjoy having visitors. Mi casa es tu casa and there aren't many rules here, just to have fun. So far I've had nothing but great experiences with the couchsurfers who have visited.

CURRENT MISSION

See the world and meet some groovy people along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I try to host as much as possible, and am constantly spreading the good word about CS :-) Prior to CS I was a member of the frustratingly antiquated LGHEI -- anyone who's been a member of that can attest to the devotion one must have to being a couchsurfer/host!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met some really great people through hosting, visiting and attending meetings.

I've had the pleasure of hosting some amazing people in Montreal, Toronto, Lisbon and now Provincetown.

CS definitely had a major positive impact on all my trips since joining the organization.

PHILOSOPHY

Leave the Earth a better place by telling all new Couchsurfers they should host a few people before they surf, get verified, fill out their profiles 100% with lots of information and several pictures, and read people's profiles carefully and personalize every couch-request. You know, all the things us old school surfers have been doing all along ;)

New surfers can find info/help here:

If you're traveling with others, every person *must* have a CS profile and send me a couchrequest. Must means must! - (No CS profile =not a CS Member. No exceptions or excuses)to this policy soPlease don’t ask. A CS profile is what makes someone a member of this wonderful organization or not. Without a profile there can be no references, for host or surfer.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a geek at heart and love science fiction, as the picture of my Halloween costume will attest! I also like horror movies (although good ones are hard to come by) and documentaries. The Young Turks, Jimmy Dore Show and David Pakman Show are some of my favorite political news shows, followed by Judge Judy and Star Trek (real Star Trek and not that JJ Abrams crap).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently went sky-diving for the first time and loved it. I'm planning to take the solo course this fall to get certified.

Teach, Learn, Share

Among my friends I'm known as the "Mac Whisperer" -- if you need any help with your Mac, whether hardware or software, I'll be happy to help. I'm a horrible cook, so if you want to prepare me a vegan meal I'll happily accept :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Laughs, relatively intelligent conversation, sight-seeing, movies, etc.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Australia, Barbados, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Colombia, Cuba, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, England, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay
