About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Be an airline pilot

ABOUT ME

I am 27 years old, and I recently graduated from the University of North Dakota with a double major in Commercial Aviation and Anthropology. I love music, especially jazz and funk. I am a pilot and I love Airplanes. I love to ride my bicycle and do outdoor things. I love good beer and being in the mountains of the North West. One day I hope to make a career out of flying or playing music, but right now I am just concerned with going on as many adventures I can before I have to settle down.
I just moved to Roanoke VA and I am loving it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For the most part I have been surfing, but I really want to get into hosting. I just need a couch to offer...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only ever met great people through Couchsurfing.

Interests

Music (Jazz, funk, Latin, Afro-cuban, pretty much anything), airplanes, riding bikes, meeting new quirky people, going on road trips, consuming good food and drink, dancing.
And I love the Simpsons (but only the early seasons) and MST3K.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my favorite music groups include Soulive, Greyboy Allstars, The B-52s, Galactic, Liquid Soul, Jurassic 5, The Rebirth Brass band, Solas, Pink Martini, The Beatles, Sharon Jones and the DKs, Esquivel, Kieth Jarret trio, Orishas, La 33, Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Bua, Lunasa, The Bothy Band, and LETTUCE! Some of my favorite musicians include Jack DeJohnette, Max Roach, Roy Haynes, Eva Cassidy, Billie Holiday, Sonny Rollins, John Coltrane, Clifford Brown, Miles Davis, T. Monk, Joshua Redman, Kenny Garret, Django and Stephan, Fela Kuti, Etta James, Rajery, Aretha Franklin, Israel Cachao, Keith Jarrett, James Brown, Maceo Parker and Kevin Burke. Aside from these definitive answers, there is way too much good music that I love for way too many different reasons to list here. Movies and books are alright too, I guess. I also love hilariously bad B movies. My favorite worst movie of all time is "The Room" by Tommy Wiseau. Also, I am a sucker for any movie with Nicholas Cage.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This last summer I rode my bicycle across the country. The trip took me across the northern US, starting in Washington and ending in New York City. I rode over 5,000 miles in five months and it was the best summer ever. Check out the blog: theexploitsofgreg.blogspot.com

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a flight instructor, so if you have an airplane I can teach you how to fly it!
I can also teach someone to play drums, and maybe a little Bass. I can tie a bow tie and cook a stir-fry, though I try not to at the same time.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bermuda, Canada, Colombia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
