About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Take in as many new experiences as possible. Stretch myself out of my comfort zones so that I can become a more complete person.

ABOUT ME

I am 23 years old and just graduated with degrees in math and physics. I am starting graduate school in physics in the fall and want to do some backpacking before I start. I work hard in school and like science because of how many interesting things it holds but that comes very far from fully describing me. I am physically active and love to learn new things. I'm open minded and flexible and would like to get to know people of all types and backgrounds. I'm on an adventure to live life to the fullest, and I hope you will join me.

I'm a simple and practical guy who is easy to get along with and talk to. We can talk about something serious or just goof off. I am flexible and easygoing. I love the outdoors and want to meet people who want to do things outside with me. I also enjoy going to dinner or grabbing a drink.

I am currently backpacking in Southeast Asia, and I'm looking for people to hang out with!

PHILOSOPHY

I used to be a very religious person. I am not anymore. The truth is I'm not sure why I live my life. I'm in the process of figuring that out. I want to love and connect with people. I want to make the world a better place.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to CS, but the community seems amazing. I'm upset that I haven't become a part of it until now. I'd like to help any way I can by hosting and helping out travelers. I'm currently backpacking in Asia, but when I get home I'd love to host people!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am a couchsurfing newbie. I recently joined for my backpacking trip in southeast Asia. But I am already extremely impressed by the sense of community, generosity, and love that seems to be present in the couchsurfing community. Eager to make CSing memories!

Interests

I like to read because there are so many people smarter than me with awesome insights about life. I play lots of sports: baseball, basketball, tennis, ultimate frisbee, wakeboarding, snowboarding, rock climbing, racquetball, and more. I like playing games (video games, board games, and especially chess). I like to hike (be outdoors in general) and explore the unknown. I also enjoy partying and socializing. I like to go out and get a beer or dinner with people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Good Will Hunting, Remember the Titans, Gladiator
Music: I'm flexible, but the music I like the most is rock, alternative, punk, and stuff like that. I like The Killers, Deathcab for Cutie, Mutemath, Paramore, Blink 182 as examples.
Books: I like to read nonfiction books and learn as much as I can. I read a lot of physics and math books because I'm a student of those subjects. I'm also interested in learning about religion and philosophy (both western and eastern), economics, psychology, and the great novels. Recommend something to me! I'll probably check it out.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, just last night I was extremely exhausted trying to find a place to sleep and eat in Tokyo when a Japanese couple offered to let me stay in their place after knowing me for 5 minutes. They were amazing hosts, and I was shocked by their generosity and trust. I don't know too many people that would do that where I am from.
