About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I've been traveling since I've been a kid with my family going on road trips around North America. I always had great memories of that trying to sleep with my3 other siblings in the back of vehicles while my Dad drives restlessly during the night and my Mom sitting in passenger side. In my mid teens I always loved going on long drives or taking the train places and exploring different areas. I always had great memories and I guess it hasn't left me. I think traveling is always a good investment in yourself.
ABOUT ME
I'm quite and active guy. I grew up playing lots of sports and didn't like to sit down much. School was not super fun for me because I had teachers that didn't have much vision outside there small towns in Wisconsin. I always had big dreams of seeing the world and learning cultures. I'm very curious in many ways. I guess I have been following my vision of exploration for quite some time. People say the world is a big place and I agree but I can now say the world is a big place but definitely attainable to see.
PHILOSOPHY
Never too young and never to old to buy that ticket and take the ride.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host when Im home in the United States which seems to be a fraction of my time of me being home out of town working or traveling. If someone really needs a place to crash I try to host them regardless of how busy I am as long as i'm in town. I usually always have friends who I met from around the globe, family or past Couchsurfers who are now friends crashing at my place when I am home which happens to be not often because i'm rarely home but when I am I tend to help out who I can. If I got good friends and they are stopping through and i'm not there then I leave them a spare key and tell them to make themselves as home. I also like to give people areas to explore if I can't be the tour guide for that day. Being I lived in so many parts of the United States and the world i'm not a bad guy to ask.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have used Couchsurfing on and off for since 2011 Mostly traveling and doing some hosting and being fortunate getting hosted by awesome people around the globe. I like the idea that people from all over the world can meet up and connect through CS. I first off started with CS by hosting 2 Australians in my southern California beach town (Hermosa beach) and it was great experience. They got the California Love vibe and I like how you can influence people to love where you live by showing them what you love.

Music, Movies, and Books
Top Gun is my all time fav, Legends of the Fall, Last of the Mohicans, Braveheart, Wedding Crashers, Most 80's films, just to name a few.
With Music you don't need eyes to love it. I happen to be a product of the 80s so I do love 80's but the past few years have gotten into House/EDM/Electronic. Rock/Metal is always in my workout playlist. I enjoy many different styles but the one style I don't care for is Country (Sorry Country Lovers)
When it comes to reading I generally "read to learn" so i'm not a big lord of the rings novel guy or for the girls the "50 shades of grey series" lol
I try to keep reading to things i'm interested in and I want to learn.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Not sure if this is amazing but here we go:
When I was traveling in Australia I chose to do a hike up Mt Sorrow in the Daintree National Park during the wettest time you can legally hike it. ("Note" Dont do this hike in May) Anyways Daintree National Park is located in the rainforest region of Queensland. Anyways I ended up getting stung by a poisonous stinging tree. This has hundreds if not thousands of microscopic needles that stay in your skin for months. I ended up getting into shock but while this was happening I had my tripod on my shoulder with my camera and lens and it was so wet and so steep that there was no possible way to hike down other than slide in the wet mud. So as I had this poison from the stinging tree race to my heart I ended up falling while sliding down the mountain and I broke my favorite lens and smacked my head where I got a minor concussion. Not to mention I had literally "hundreds" of blood sucking leaches that got in through my clothes and making me bleed all over my body. I couldn't do anything about it. Not to mention this was all in Saltwater crocodile country so you had to be careful as it was. Needless to say I know why they called it Mount Sorrow.
Teach, Learn, Share
Not sure if this is in the -Teach, Learn, Share- section but For you Couchsurfers out there who would like to continue to read my bio well here is a kind of brief rundown of where I have been and lived which in turn can be Teachable, Learnable, and Shareable.
Born in the suburbs of Chicago but grew up in a small farm town in Wisconsin till I turned 17 years old. Our family moved to the beautiful state of Montana where I graduated High School. I was a athlete growing up so got recruited out of Montana to go to a sports school first with education secondary in my eyes. This was in far northern California where I spent 3 years of my life with summers in Montana. I was always a big fitness enthusiast and Adventurist. So had visions since I was young to move to the beautiful and sunny Southern California. So in 2008 I left Northern California as Well as Montana and moved to the beaches of Los Angeles. In this time I got on a reality tv show (Not naming it lol) and continued to pursue the fitness industry and doing that Cali thing. I spent 4 years of my life in Los Angeles staying in the beach cities such as Venice Beach 1 year, Santa Monica 2 years, West LA for a bit and Hermosa Beach for almost a year. I consider home to be Southern California as well as Montana because they both have my love. Both states are on the opposite side of the spectrum Montana because secluded (4th largest state in the US with a population of only 1 million in the whole state) Its very conservative, mountainous, wild, and gun friendly. Southern California is very liberal, highly populated (3rd largest state with a population of 40 million) its the entertainment capital of the world and progressive. I happen to love both and hence why I say both places are home to me.
Anyways as I felt I wanted to Leave the US and see what the world was all about I decided I was either going to join the military or travel the world. At this time the US was in full blown war which I chose to not be apart of. Not because Im not patriotic but because war is a nasty money hungry business and had friends joining just to join and I respect it but I chose to travel the world knowing I would keep all my limbs. So February of 2012 I left Los Angeles where I was living for 4 years and decided to move to Australia on a working holiday visa... I was 27 at the time. I then Flew to Melbourne where I was there for a few weeks. Got a job in the first 60 hours of being in Melbourne, I worked the job for 1 week, then I bought a Van and travelled the whole east coast of OZ. Meeting many fellow traveler's on the way. I camped the whole way up. this lasted a few months. My brother then moved to Melbourne and I moved to Melbourne after my Van travels to stay with him for 3 months. I then bought a 6 month train pass and travelled all over Australia multiple times. Once i had enough with Melbourne I then found a place to Rent in Sydney moved there and was working multiple jobs (Fitness industry and film industry) and living there for over 1.5 years. I left Australia then traveled to Thailand for a while then moved to Finland for the winter of 3 months. I then became obsessed literally with saunas. You Finns out there you know what i'm saying. Once I was in Finland for the winter as stated above happened to be very dark haha. After this time I traveled to Denmark, Estonia, Sweden, Norway. I love the nordic countries and all have similar desolate areas similar to Montana and this was all great. Long story short I was out of my home country for 2.5 years.
Coming back to the states February of 2014 I moved to Florida for 3 months where my Father remarried and spent some time with him and my 96 year old kick ass grandmother. I then left Florida and did a 3 month welcome back to America road trip where I traveled 15,000 miles or 24,000km in 3 months. I then finished my travels as I decided settle in Austin Texas for about a year. After Austin I moved up to Chicago to spend time with my 2 brothers and work for about 7months. After Chicago I then moved back to Southern California to live at the beach (San Clemente) at this time I was planning on moving to New Zealand on a working holiday visa. I moved to New Zealand in early December of 2016 and spent 3 months traveling and doing a bit of work on the way. Leaving New Zealand early March of 2017 I will be traveling around Europe taking in that European air. So looking forward to seeing fellow Couchsurfers and as always making worldwide friends.
