About Me

I'm absolutely gripped by wanderlust. After shutting down the company that my friends and I started, I decided that I had to do some more traveling. I went down to Brazil and Argentina for a few months. After that, I decided that I had wanted to spend some time on the beautiful island of Kauai, Hawaii. That was in late 2014 and I haven't left!

I'm a very friendly guy - there aren't many people that I don't get along with. I'm a big fan of exploring, meeting new people, seeing new places and trying new food. I also love sport and staying active. I play rugby and enjoy running, hiking, skydiving and trying just about any sport I can.

PHILOSOPHY

"There comes a time in every life when the past recedes and the future opens. It's that moment when you turn to face the unknown. Some will turn back to what they already know. Some will walk straight ahead into uncertainty. I can't tell you which one is right, but I can tell you which one is more fun."
- Phil Knight, CoFounder of Nike

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am pretty new to Couchsurfing. If I was living somewhere that I was in control of, I'd offer up my couch in a heartbeat and happily host folks.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only just got started and my experiences have been incredible! The willingness of people to open their homes and welcome in a nearly complete stranger helps to restore the faith I have in humanity.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: This is a tough one since I love movies and have seen hundreds. Back to The Future is my all-time favorite, but I enjoy just about any movie that's at least decent.

Music: I'm big into EDM right now, but Rock, Jazz, Classical and Blues are all in my collection.

Books: I'm a big fan of non-fiction and, usually, business or personal growth related. Two of my favorites are The Four Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss and Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scuba Diving on the Great Barrier Reef was definitely one of the most amazing things I've done in my life.
Skydiving over Queenstown, New Zealand was unreal.

Teach, Learn, Share

I spent 2.5 years running a tech startup - part of that time in Silicon Valley, so I got to know tons of people in the tech startup capital of the world. From how to start a business to what it takes to get an investor to invest, to starting and running a WordPress blog, I would love to share my knowledge about the tech startup sector. In addition, I always love to spread awareness about rugby, especially in the US where it's not as popular, but is growing quickly. As mentioned above, I'm always looking to learn!
