About Me

I graduated from
High school in Germany last year, after I had done an exchange year in the United States in 2012/13, which both opened my eyes and changed my life. After that, I left Germany again and went to Central America for 6 months. I worked in different ecological and social projects in Guatemala and Costa Rica, lived with local families and traveled through those countries. That time, those 6 months, we're both humbling and opened my eyes yet again to how much this world has to offer, to those who know to look for it.
My motto: Walk through life with a smile on your face and the world will smile back at you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well that's easy on the other hand :) as I said, life is about sharing it with other people. And I truly believe that, if we share life with people from other cultures and countries, we can change the world and make it a peaceful place. Because all conflict arises from not knowing and misunderstanding.

Interests

I love to sing, act and read. Well and obviously traveling and getting to know new people, but that's all life's about anyway, isn't it?

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm really into classical music, however I love classic rock and blues, too. My favorite composers are Verdi, Schostakowitsch and Mahler, while I love Edith Piaf, Joe Cocker and, well, Abba.
I love to watch movies in general, especially classics, however I haven't had enough time yet to watch enough of them. I love the Lord of the Rings movies though.
And books? Where can I start?!!! I just love to explore the world and life through different characters' eyes. But I guess my favorite book of all times is "When I was a work of art" by Eric Emmanuel Schmitt.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saved about 5000 sea turtles in Guatemala.

Teach, Learn, Share

Wow, that's a deep one. I've learned all that I know about life from sharing life with others. I guess that's how it's supposed to work. And if I can contribute to someone else's process of learning by sharing my experiences, I'm more than happy to do so!
