About Me

CURRENT MISSION

just go with the flow...

ABOUT ME

I love to travel -- but like many, if not most, full time writers of fiction, I'm fairly different. I think that's a good thing, but different strokes for... you know.:) For one, I'm no longer a major party dude, so I prefer surfers who are more interested in the local culture, hiking, conversation etc. than partying, pub crawls and chasing Hungarian girls/guys. (This is not a pointed remark to some of my previous surfers. They were cool.)

Oh, and I may be forever known here as "That Dude with the Flu", as I've organized a major New Year's Eve CS party crawl (2007) only to be forced to call it off because I was struck down with my worst flu ever 2 days before the date. Lesson No. 1: Don't ever organize a party without backup co-organizers.

PHILOSOPHY

While always a bit of an introvert, there was a long period in my youth when my philosophy revolved around the very commonplace triad of sex, drugs, and rock (and roll). Whatever places I've visited back then, these motivated me. New Year's eve in Amsterdam, loitering in Southern Italy, AC/DC gig in Prague, the Temple Bar of Dublin, the nightlife of London, you name it, I was there wasting myself with drugs or beverages.
It all changed a couple of years ago, I now consider myself a Christian and my 'philosophy' certainly reflects that. That still makes me friendly but way more spiritual. :]

Music, Movies, and Books

Films: Mike Leigh, Stephen Frears, Neil Jordan, Atom Egoyan, little seen English/Irish indies. Hungarian indies are getting good too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seen: must be the Taman Negara in Malaysia and the Sierra del Escambray in Cuba. These are two separate jungles but they're in tie ;].
Done: FOUND GOD. And to a lesser degree, spending 2 nights in the middle of a rainforest recently struck by a hurricane.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, creative writing is my line of work. You know, I make up stories (usually in a darkly realistic vein). Expand them into novels and screenplays. Getting them to publishers and/or producers, getting them promoted. I'm also into making documentaries on related subjects, on a more or less professional level -- but these stalled as of the 2008/9 crisis.
Let me know if you're interested in any of this.
