About Me

Hello, I'm an engineer, Kung Fu teacher and former singer music journalist living in Dublin.
I usually travel around Europe and USA to meet friends and have fun at the coolest rock festivals.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To give people the cozy Couchsurfing opportunity that I was given in the first place and that made me happy about this whole experience, also of course to meet new friends.

**IMPORTANT (if you're not in a hurry)**
we all know the Couchsurfing community isn't what it used to be before. Attitudes, expectations and behaviours of hosts in here have changed and have awfully polarized to what I believe are not really comfortable and "welcoming" directions.
You now got many insecure hosts looking for attention that want you to express how much you would like to stay at their place -and their place only in a number of dozens in each city- and why, and list down all that makes them soooooo interesting to you... like you decided to travel to a city just to deliver all your attention to a stranger, right? Ahah 😂🤣
It's not that MAYBE you're just trying to find a more friendly and easy way to visit a new place? Uh? 🤣
In the newest fashion. they "kindly" ask you to go FBI on their profile to find cues you'll need to report in your message request, or even to go FBI on yourself too, on your profile information and your own need for a place, and to doubt your very intention to sleep at someone else's place instead of a cheap hostel.
Isn't all of that RIDICULOUS in respect of the pure travelling and adventurous spirit that is promoted here? Yes it is.

So, to shorten this down, YOU WON'T FIND ANY OF THAT PRESSURE while communicating with me 😊
I will simply, friendly and purely host when I can, who I feel I can get along with.
OF COURSE I give top importance to safety, honesty, good manners and absolute cleanliness but I would express it like an adult, and won't weight that on you to make you feel that you OWE me some special attention and devotion.

Just be yourself.
Be consistent enough to reply to your host anytime - ANYTIME- you get a "maybe" or a confirmation and be the one that keeps the communication up to date. Hosts are giving you their time and space (sometimes even when they don't have much of both) and they deserve respect in return.
And then just ask, and ye shall be given.
