About Me

I am currently a graduate student working on my Masters of Divinity at Yale Divinity School. I am pursuing ordination in the Episcopal Church, meaning I want to be a priest (lots of similarities and differences between us Episcopalians/Anglicans and Roman Catholics, I'd love to explain more if you're interested). I have lived in four states in the US and spent a semester living in France. I love traveling and am looking forward to spending more time learning and growing with folks from around the world. I'm pretty good at growing a beard, drinking whiskey, and baking bread.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have couchsurfed with friends before, but never with strangers. I traveled to the European Meeting of Taizé in Rome in 2012, and I relied on the hospitality of strangers. I think it is one of the best ways to truly encounter a culture, to deepen relationships, and to help foster meaningful community. I've stayed in ecovillages in Switzerland and relied on friends from my time living in a monastic community in France. I am all about radical hospitality and transforming our systems of commodification and exploitation into systems of grace and solidarity.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the experiences I've loved most is my backpacking in the Blue Ridge Parkway of North Carolina.

Teach, Learn, Share

Books! I may even let you take one with you (especially if I've read it already).

Food! I love cooking for people and sharing what I have. I can accommodate dietary restrictions.

Music! Let's make music together! I play the violin (although I don't have one anymore)

I want to learn more languages. Let's break bread together and see where it leads us!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Depending on what I'm bringing with me, I can promise good conversation and a very few needs. Let's write poetry together and make music and tell stories and argue about politics and break bread together as strangers trusting in the goodness of hospitality!
