Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet and share with people.

I just returned to BCS from Guadalajara. I will be traveling to San Louis Potosi the beginning of December for a visit. I would like to plore more of BCS in the meantime.

Interests

Fly fishing around the world, both fresh and saltwater. Catching different species of fish that I have not caught before takes me to many places around the world. And it introduces me to people that I have not met before. I have been blessed with friendships that I now call trail magic, a term they use on the Appalachian Trail. Its unexpected acts of kindness that appear unexpectedly resulting in new friendships.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite music is quite varied. I prefer action movies but like human interest as well. Books are definitely history related.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving alone on my first attempt from 4,000 feet, I was awestruck how silent the world could be at that altitude. You are totally alone with just your thoughts as you are floating down.

The other moment was sticking my head outside the hatch after my first submarine deployment and smelling grass as if I had never experienced it before. What made it all the more amazing was how far from shore we were docked at the end of the pier.

I like to share English with my hosts while I learn their native language. I love to share native cultures and, if possible, fishing.
