ABOUT ME
After receiving my second masters degree I decided to take a break from academia, and I ended up teaching English in China. Since August, 2015 I live and work in Taigu, Shanxi province and I teach in the middle school section of a boarding school. I studied in the Netherlands, lived and worked in a kibbutz in Israel, and did summer work in the US for four summers.
I am a passionate traveler (not a tourist!) and I want to visit as many countries as I can; however, in a way I get to know the country. That is why I don't travel with agencies but on my own, use public transport and stay in hostels or hopefully couchsurfing to mingle with the locals.
About my personality: probably I'm not the best person to write about that, but I can assure that I'm fairly bearable. :)
Interests
Every form of traveling, hiking, exploring new regions and cultures especially in East Asia; contemporary and Central and Eastern European literature; contemporary theatre; ethnomusicology with a focus on Balkan, Romani and Jewish music.

Waking up beyond check-out time after a typical Vegas night, then driving to Death Valley and arriving to Zabriskie Point just at sunset where you understand what Kant meant by sublime (das Erhabene).
