About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to learn

ABOUT ME

I live in Berkeley, CA, where I get by making websites and films when I can. I like to read, write, and travel, alone and with friends. I'm a big fan of long train rides, coffee shops, hikes in the desert, and live storytelling. I love meeting people when I travel - I think it's part of the whole point.

PHILOSOPHY

A favorite quote: if the fool would persist in his folly he would become wise. -William Blake (a favorite poet)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i couchsurfed quite a bit during a long road trip with friends and loved it. I love to surf when I travel, which hasn't been much for the past few years. i'm not able to host right now, but when i am in a situation to host i will do so enthusiastically.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

have done some surfing in arizona and california and am totally hooked.

Interests

long slow movies (barry lyndon by kubrik) and good documentaries (my architect is a favorite). this american life. running and doing yoga, and walking my dog. i like to go for hikes. i like to cook but usually nothing fancy.

Music, Movies, and Books

books: the brothers karamasov, the savage detectives, murakami, the unbearable lightness of being, under the banner of heaven

movies: docs (my architect, american movie), lost in translation, barry lyndon, in a world

music (a smattering): erykah badu, magnetic fields, jens lekman, neko case

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

seen: a massive complex of golden temples hidden somewhere in the hills of northern california.

Teach, Learn, Share

i am good with computers, and can teach many adobe creative suite programs, final cut pro, web design or digital filmmaking skills. i'd be happy to show you how to create a website for yourself in a day.

i am a beginner at playing guitar and want to get better (disclaimer: as of this update of my cs profile I have not picked up my guitar in over a month and i feel really bad about it). I'm interested in learning how to make music on computers, like logic pro style.
