About Me
I like to spend most of my time finding beauty in everything around me. I take this beauty and put it in my music, drawings or photos. I've been blessed with the ability to not feel any hatred of strong negative feeling towards anything or anyone. I'm free to laugh, smile and love.
I'm 21 years old student from Helsinki, Finland. I was born to an Estonian family, which is why I can speak both Estonian and Finnish fluently.
Currently, I'm studying in Sibelius Academy to become a professional cellist. I started playing since I was 5 and at some point I realized that this is actually something I want to do for living. It might have something to do with the fact that all my family is a bunch of musicians :)
I am open-minded, always friendly person. I might seem a little shy at first nut once I feel comfortable, I can talk about anything in this world.
I grew up in Finland, which means that for me, silence is as good as talking, neutral face is neutral face (not negative) and sincerity is important. However, I don't find it to be the only possible way to be. Be as you are, I'm as I am.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
One of my greatest passions in this life is traveling. I've been to several countries in Europe and want to keep on exploring. Being a student has it's pros and cons when it comes to traveling. I have quite a lot of time to travel and many places to see, so I think it's a good time to do it. Cons would be the costs of seeing the world, especially accommodation.
Another reason for creating the account here was to meet and connect with new people. I believe the world is full of wonderful people and I would really love to get to know them.
Interests
I have a lot of interests at the moment and some come and go as the time passes.
Here are a few that have stayed for as long as I can remember:
-Music: obviously music is a huge part of my life as I'm studying it on daily basis. Even though my studies and practicing are heavily based on classical side, there are a lot of other genres that I love.
-Cooking: I love cooking for others and discovering new recipes. I've been vegetarian for some while now and I want to keep it like that for now. It wasn't really an ethical choice, more like I was surprised how easy it is to not eat meat. That's why I don't really mind other people eating it or not eating, it's their choice. As for cooking, I'm specialized in desserts and baking. I like sweet things, sure, but somehow it seems like it's something I'm specifically good at.
-Postcards: I have collected postcards for many years now and at some point I used to do postcrossing a lot. These days I usually either buy cards in different places that I visit or get them from friends and family.
-Sports: I like playing tennis, though during last few years I haven't had much time for it. I also like pilates, swimming and jogging. Other sports I like too, but prefer to watch.

Music, Movies, and Books
The music I like has such a wide range of genres so it's difficult to name all of them. In the world of classical music, my favorite composers include Beethoven, Bach, Brahms, Wagner, Richard Strauss. As for non-classical, I really love Queen, jazz (swing especially), Crowded House etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I built a snowman 3 meters tall once. It took forever, it was cold, my clothes got wet and it was difficult to use ladder on unsteady ground, but I was really proud of myself when I was done.
There probably are many things I've done that other people would consider more amazing than a snowman. I think one occasion was when I got to play as a soloist in front of Estonian national orchestra as a finalist of a competition. It was amazing not only because I didn't ever believe I'd get so far but also it was such a surreal experience.
But the most amazing thing for me is just be. To stand in sunlight, breathe in sweet smell of spring flowers and to be grateful for this wonderful life as it is.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach Estonian and Finnish languages, tell about these cultures and traditions.
Also things that I think I'm quite good at: music and drawing
