About Me

CURRENT MISSION

homeward bound: the incredible journey

ABOUT ME

I was born in Berkeley, CA, but grew up in Princeton, NJ and lived there until I was 18 at which point I moved to Seattle for school (The Evergreen State College) and a change of scenery. There I fell in love with a beautiful girl named Emily and we've been living/traveling together ever since.

PHILOSOPHY

I have dabbled in everything from determinism to nihilism and back again. Spent many years reading/studying/attempting myriad philosophies, religions, and ideologies from all over the world...got stuck in my share of "isms" and convictions, and do you know what its all boiled down to? "Live and let live". Oh its all so complicated and simple all at once, isn't it? What can I say? I can't stand the expression, "The world is your oyster".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I spent two lovely nights in an old WW2 signal house in Oban, Scotland, atop a cliff overlooking the water and surrounding islands. Leo, the host there, is a great guy with awesome music, hilarious stories, and a tasty vegetarian haggis recipe! While Leo has set the bar really high, I look forward to more surfing and meeting great people all over. This was my first and have had many since then- all amazing but too many to mention!

Interests

Travel may be the ultimate passion...art (painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, metal/wood working, instillation, performance, found-object, conceptual...)
Playing, recording, producing music...guitar mostly and lots of ambient soundscapes with lush texture and haunting resonance.
Organic farming/permaculture/eco-design...sustainable practices of any kind.
