ABOUT ME

Success is overrated. I'd recommend doing what you enjoy, and trying to live without requiring a whole lot to be happy.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy changes periodically, but I'll explain my current ideology if you can bare with me.
Presently, my past is a series of memories- some good, and some bad. That isn't to say that I remember my entire past. On the contrary, I remember a small fraction of my past. This is because the vast majority of what I do, is simply not note worthy. This morning, for example, I woke up ate breakfast, brushed me teeth, ran some errands... ect. I can honestly say that I wont remember this morning in a few days. However, there are certain mornings that I will remember for the rest of my life. These mornings are permanently filed in my memory. At any time I can pull one of these files, and go back to that memory and enjoy it again.
If a period of time goes by, and nothing memorable happens, then that period of your life is forever lost, it might as well not have occurred. This morning for example, will soon no longer be a part of me. Because of this, I try to make my life exciting and memorable.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed my way across the united states, via hitchhiking, and also surfed during numerous other trips. I've met some cool people along the way, and had some great times. Whenever possible, I open up my living accommodations to anyone that wants to brave what little I tend to call home. I must admit, this is rather infrequent, due to my relatively nomadic and seasonal life style.

Intereses

What ever seems like it will be fun, I try to do. I will however list the classic activities: mountain biking, road biking, bike touring, climbing, skiing, hiking, hitchhiking, drinking, streaking, dancing, billiards, lifting weights, running, sledding, ummm... there are probably more things that I'm interested in, but I hope that list is sufficient.
I should also add that listening to interesting people I've always enjoyed. Certain people love to talk about themselves, and as long as they are interesting, then I don't mind paying attention.

the wallow mountains of the eagle cap wilderness in north eastern oregon. I don't know why I'm telling you guys about them, I kind of want them to stay secluded.
Oh, and big foot. No, really!

One great tip, is not to take underwear when traveling with a backpack. The problem with underwear is that they get dirty in a hurry, and they are difficult to wash. The solution is to bring a few pairs of swimming shorts. I like old really short nylon trunks. They aren't as comfortable, but you can get more wears out of them, and you can wash them in a river- they dry out really quick. Also, if it gets really hot out, you can just strip down and jump in a lake, or even city water fountain, with out getting arrested.
