About Me

ABOUT ME

I happen to be a reporter and photojournalist from a country named Georgia or Sakartvelo, as we call it here. Being a journalist can become a routine for some, but I try to transform my job into more something interesting as I like to travel and I always try to get stories from different regions of this small but interesting country, bring pictures from there and even if the pictures aren't perfect from the angle of photography, I always try to make sure that they will tell interesting stories, which I witness somewhere and want to share with others.

I really love meeting new people and learning from them. I sometimes prefer to be a listener rather than a talker as I am always interested in what others have and can share with me.

Photography and journalism help me to travel and meet many people, but sometimes I chose different ways to switch my mind on to other things like studying to play a bass guitar (which I failed, but it was fun :D), studying Japanese, in which I am not planning to give up even though it seems really difficult, painting, walking tens of kilometres, taking cooking lessons or something else.

PHILOSOPHY

The moment you stop trying to become a better person, is the moment you start to become worse than what you already are.

One has to know how to forgive, but also have to know how to apologize and of course, love more and by loving stress the hatred in ownself and the others.

I also just have to squeeze this quote from a movie here: "Never, EVER, EVER trust anyone who says they don't like dogs!
You meet someone who doesn't like dogs you alert the authorities IMMEDIATELY and you sure as SHIT don't MARRY THEM" :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far unfortunately I am not able to host anyone, but I hope I will be able too soon. What I can do is show you my city or travel with you in different corners of Georgia and explore it with you.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just have to tell you the story how I discovered CS: me and my friend were visiting western part of Azerbaijan for the first time and were about to leave it, but we didn't want to go without seeing the capital. With having no money to go there and stay at least in a hostel we got advise to try CS and so we registered and as a freshly registered members with no references or experience at all the very first guy to whom we sent couchsurfing request just like that in ten minutes agreed to host us next morning and I will never forget how Azer met us early in the morning at the railway station in Baku in cold and windy weather, took us home buying food for us on the road and I can assure you being with Azer and his friend Tarkhan for a few days, well - it was really amazing FIRST couchsurfing experience.
Unfortunately I don't have opportunity to host anyone yet, which is sort of a dream of mine to move to an apartment where I will be able to host from CS, but so far I helped my friend to host guys from Poland, Ukraine, Romania, South Korea and UK and it was really great.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - Well, if I list here my favourite movies, it will take whole profile page. I love lots of movies and I also love anime, but with a small remark here that I don't watch series, only full movies.

Music - this is what most of the people like to share and ask each-other - what do you listen to? Well, for me music happens to be one of the most private things and there is part of my favourite music which I prefer not to share, but if you take a look into my ipod, you'll discover a loooots of music from movies, which I really love to discuss with you and there are favorite bands and artists, which I can list here for you. This will be adorable Jeff Buckley, Nina Simone, Elsiane, Queen, Sigur Ros, Dead Can Dance, Shpongle, Sleep Party People, of course Radiohead, etc.

Books: I don't know how correct this is to mention Edgar Poe and H.P Lovecraft, but here they are :))

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't think so far I can boast by doing anything really amazing, but what I'd list here as amazing thing I've seen is seeing Beksinski's pictures live, at least so far it is first thing that pops up in my mind every time when I'm asked the same question. I acknowledge many might not like his paintings, but those who do I must recommend you to go and see his paintings live as they are hundred times astonishing and unbelievable as they seem by just seeing them on the internet.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Georgian language or how to make dreamcathers or even simple embroider and knit, but I don't know if I make a good teacher, I guess I am better pupil willing to learn from you and I am willing to share with you everything I can share.

Countries I’ve Visited

Armenia, Azerbaijan, Germany, India, Lebanon, Poland, Ukraine, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
