Overview
About Me
I'm an easygoing, young-inside (outside not so much, alas) man, embodying all 4572 positive adjectives you've ever seen in personal descriptions here. (Except for not being boastful.)
I do not tolerate smoking anywhere in my home. I also don't like to host people who smell like neglected ashtrays, and I definitely don't like burn holes on my mattresses. Sorry, but: if you smoke, ask somebody else to host you.
My home and garden are clothing optional, so you can wear whatever clothing you like (including none) while you stay with me. Just be mature and handle nudity etc. in some way other than OMG NEKKID PEOPLE!!1! (Or worse.)
My Philosophy: 42. Enough said.
NB: I'm OK with people who like to multiply that number by ten.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Well, I like to host and surf. :-P
I've been hosting about twenty people so far, and visited with five. No major problems yet – except for the burn holes …
I try to answer every CS request, but please include an email address – I'm not a fan of replying through the CS website and can't do it while I'm at work. (NB: This is the only reason for my less-than-stellar reply percentage.)
Currently my home situation is too complicated for accepting guests. There might be exceptions. ;-)

Music, Movies, and Books
Lots of science fiction. And science. And some fantasy (how the hell do you classify Terry Pratchett?).
I also like to watch modern dance performances.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Burning Man. An unforgettable experience I hope to repeat … as soon as I manage to get tickets. :-/ (I've been there in 2001.)
Teach, Learn, Share
I keep the beat on a Jembe (that's a drum from Africa).
I beat on all things esoteric ('cause I am naturalist and sceptic).
I beat the odds (sometimes).
