About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To get outside of the my comfortable town in central North Carolina, and to meet the great people of the Couchsurfing community.

ABOUT ME

These days I live with my girlfriend in Carrboro, a sunny small town next door to Chapel Hill. I love a good plate of Carolina-style pulled pork and a good game of basketball.

I've used Craigslist many times to find vacation apartments or carpools. I'm always excited to meet new people and swap experiences. I'm clean and punctual, and, so others make me believe, I have a good sense of humor. Mostly I'm interested to meet new people and see exciting new places.

I prize honesty and sincerity, and I tend to pick friends who are at once silly, bright, revolting, respectable, self-critical, and who don't have a clear path set for their lives.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that people should strive to be honest with themselves and others, as much as possible. That would make life much better in so many ways.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I'm more of a traveler, but I plan to begin hosting Couchsurfers in the not-too-distant future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Getting ready for my first one.... but many of my good friends have harangued me for not having used Couchsurfing before.

Interests

Writing, ping pong, cavorting about town.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once, when I was 11 or 12, my dad saved a mountain biker who had fallen over the side of a cliff. My memory might be strained, but I remember that my dad reached over the cliff, grasped the howling biker, and with veins raised and muscles taut, lifted the man back to solid ground. My dad can still out-do me at the gym.
