About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to experiance all of what life has to offer

ABOUT ME

Since arriving back from my travels I've changed my priorities significantly. I now arrange my life in a way in which allows me to do that which I love. I'm always eager to embrace any opportunity to get to know people from different cultures and learn from their perspectives.

Music is something that I'm very passionate about and this year I've decided to finally produce my debut album, so thats pretty much where most of my time, money, and energy is going at the moment. My dream is to be able to travel with my music and share it with others around the world.

PHILOSOPHY

I think that everyone has something they can give, even if its something as simple as love. Life itself has so many opportunities to learn and gain new experiences and I hope to spend my life making the most of those.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I joint this before I left on my OE, and hosted one person and then met up with a few others. During my trip I had some of my highlights through my couchsurfing experiences. It blew me away how tight this community is, despite everyone being linked together through the internet. It is great proof that there is still a big desire for many people all over the world to share, interact, and learn from each others culture. Now that I'm back home I would love to give something back by helping people out in whatever way possible when they come to my city.

Interests

After my first big OE I realized that two of my biggest interests are travel and languages. My life long passion is music. I play guitar and sing and I performing my own original music. Being brought up in NZ has also meant that I've developed outdoor interests as well such as camping & hiking.

Music, Movies, and Books

My musical taste is very wide. I love blues, folk, funk, hip hop, rock, jazz, latin, and I'm always open to hearing new styles. My "favorite artist" always changes. At the moment I'm going through a Broken Bells listening phase. I listen to a lot of Ryan Adams, Ben Harper, David Gray, Bon Iver, Jose Gonzalez, Sufijan Stevens, Elbow, Tallest Man On Earth, Fleet Foxes, Laura Marling, Ray Lamontagne, The XX, Yann Tiersen, Dave Matthews, Eddie Vedder, Cat Stevens, Jimi Hendrix.

I read the odd book every now and again, my favorite movies are Into the Wild and District 9.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled all over South America for a year with my backpack and a guitar. It was a life changing experience for me, meeting some of the coolest, friendliest, most generous people I've ever met. Being immersed in other cultures is something that taught me more about myself than anything I'd ever learnt back at home in all of my previous 23 years of life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach guitar, I can also teach english to anyone that wants a hand, or basic Spanish. I would love to meet with any musicians who want to share their music or maybe have a jam.

Si hablas espanol me gustaria hablarte tambien. Yo aprendi mucho en mi viaje y no quiero olvidarlo aqui. Siempre la gente aqui hablan ingles!
