About Me

Haven’t updated my profile in about seven years very lazy... been travelling much of that.

Love photography, currently in a India 🇮🇳

https://www.geraintrowland.co.uk

Neglected CS for a few years pretty much... Used a little throughout South America whilst I was living in Lima, Peru. Back traveling again now, heading to Mexico City next Week, then who knows. Probably head back to South America at some stage soon enough! Or maybe return to Africa... Travelling to explore new places, meet people and take lots of photos, that's my passion right now, you can take a look here: www.facebook.com/geraintrowlandphotography Enjoy the big outdoors, surfing, snowboarding, cycling, skateboarding and their respective cultures. Interested in art, museums, different cultures. Big lover of music, new music, checking out gigs, keen to go to gigs in different countries and new venues to make the experience even more memorable. Music tastes are varied including punk, reggae, ska, hiphop, country, folk. Spotify.com is constantly on. Love reading and surround myself in books... PHILOSOPHY Smile and the World will smile with you. Wealth, if you use it, comes to an end. Learning, if you use it, will nourish you forever... “People travel to faraway places to watch, in fascination, the kind of people they ignore at home.” – Dagobert D. Runes “All human beings are also dream beings. Dreaming ties all mankind together.” Laughter makes you live longer... “Travel is not reward for working, it’s education for living.” “Traveling is not just seeing the new; it is also leaving behind. Not just opening doors; also closing them behind you, never to return. But the place you have left forever is always there for you to see whenever you shut your eyes.” -Jan Myrdal “All travel has its advantages. If the passenger visits better countries, he may learn to improve his own. And if fortune carries him to worse, he may learn to enjoy it.” – Samuel Johnson “When we get out of the glass bottle of our ego and when we escape like the squirrels in the cage of our personality and get into the forest again, we shall shiver with cold and fright. But things will happen to us so that we don’t know ourselves. Cool, unlying life will rush in.” – D. H. Lawrence Have a heart that never hardens, a temper that never fires and a touch that never hurts. “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain “We travel not to escape life, but so life doesn’t escape us” I am still learning. You learn more from your mistakes than from your successes. ‘My country is the world and my religion is to do good.’ - Thomas Paine “Not all those who wander are lost.” “I am not the same having seen the moon rise on the other side of the world.” ~Mary Ann Rademacher Success is not measured by the position you reach in life. It is measured by the obstacles you have overcome. “Tourists don’t know where they’ve been, travelers don’t know where they’re going.” – Paul Theroux Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant. It is the sum of our life experiences which makes us what we are. We must recognise them, cherish them and understand them. The less time we have the more we value it “People travel to faraway places to watch, in fascination, the kind of people they ignore at home.” “Our battered suitcases were piled on the sidewalk again; we had longer ways to go. But no matter, the road is life.” – Jack Kerouac

“Our battered suitcases were piled on the sidewalk again; we had longer ways to go. But no matter, the road is life.”

" The game of life is a game of boomerangs. Our thoughts, deeds and words return to us sooner or later with outstanding accuracy." Florence Schovel

"A man has to travel. On your own, not through history, images, books or TV. You have to travel by yourself, by your own eyes and feet to understand what is yours. To plant one day your own trees and give them worth. Know coldness to enjoy warmth and the opposite. Feel the distance and the homelessness to be fine under your own roof. A man has to travel to unknown places to break the arrogance that make us see the world as we imagine and not as it simply is or could be; that make us professors and doctors of what we haven't seen, when we should be pupils and simply go and see."
Amyr Klink - Endless Sea
