About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Liberating my beloved city from corrupt officials and the like! No sleep 'till Hammersmith!

ABOUT ME

190, 130 kilos and they call me grizzly... 'nuff said?!?!

Okay.

Smoker, drinker, rocker, roller, swordfighter, swimmer, wrestler, poet, writer, reader, living encyclopaedia, anarchist, anthropologist, gamer, hedonist, scruffy, heavy in stature and thoughts, thinker, occasionally tinker, not very often tailor, never a soldier, rarely a spy.

PHILOSOPHY

I know i'm going to lose/and gambling is for fools/but that's the way i like it, baby/i don't wanna live forever!

Lemmy, Motörhead

Since I'm a hard-core lefty radical, i suppose 'no gods, no masters', or something like that also applies. And i find observing basic human decency quite useful. not in a moralistic, but in an ethical sense. You know, treat folks well, and don't discriminate and all that. Give people a chance, they might surprise you.

I also believe nothing is sacred and everything and anything should be made fun of. In particular pompous stuff, such as patriotism or the like.

I'm also not particularly politically correct, regardless (and in conjunction) with above statements. Duality of mankind, see?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, by offering you a couch, complete with a dog, and a tour of the shabbier parts of the town. I might be a good guide to the arts scene, if you're into that, or your best drinking buddy. if you're nice to me, you may even get a breakfast in, well, on couch, ok? and that's not a sexual innuendo either.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted quite a few people by now, and for the most part - there were a few notable exceptions, but only a few - had great fun in doing so. Haven't tried the other, being hosted bit as yet, but i'll try to remedy that ASAP. So far, the whole project - for me - works really great an I'm glad to be a member. But none of that glucose 'being a part of one huge family' bull, please!

Interests

Films, books, rocking and rolling, dogs, medieval combat, literature, drinking, chess and general frolicking. Um, and traveling the world, naturally...

Recently i'm pretty focused on building a better world for all of us, so if you have any ideas, lemme know.

Music, Movies, and Books

all too many to put down. Just say from Asimov to Zinn, from Altman to Zemeckis (*sigh*, no cool guys on zed..), from Angelic Upstarts to Zabranjeno Pušenje.

Seriously, I'm addicted to all that shite, but particularly films.

Lately quite fond of Game of thrones, naturally.
I consider 'The good, the bad and the ugly', 'Dr. Strangelove' and 'Fight club' amongst the best things put to film so far. I'm moody, so the list varies, but those three should be around, always.

As for films, anyone considering visiting Slovenia should see 'Big river man'.

As for music, it's just too much stuff, really. But i generally like it hard and heavy, rocking and rolling, and i have a fondness for blues, as well as punk and grunge, on which i grew up. On the other hand, i suppose i dislike jazzy stuff and most electronic dancy thingies. There are always exceptions, naturally. But i despise profoundly any easy-listening, feel-good sanitised pop.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen the crocodile smile in Cuba, nearly pissed on a collibri there, and learned how to salsa in the streets of Havana. I wrestled the Umridge from Bainbridge at the giant's ring in Belfast and fought with swords and spears on the castle of Celje. I travelled nearly 6000 kilometers in two weeks with a fifteen year old van, three other monsters and no shower. Travelled even further next year and took a piss in Asia. I breathed tear gas when i tried to give first aid to the people of my town when they were attacked by the cops. And all those memories will be lost, like tears in rain.

Teach, Learn, Share

Huh, there's plenty of stuff, i suppose.

I taught kids in Belfast how to write Haiku poetry and express themselvs via poetry. I taught generations of locals how to do proper improv theatre and street theatre. And I still teach folks how to fight like a proper medieval knight. You know, romantic stuff, such as 'kick them when they're down', 'go for the soft bits' or 'should you stab someone in the mouth with a sword and not kill them outright, you should twist it so you break the other guys teeth, then chop his head off when he's too busy wailing in agony to defend himself.' Cute stuff like that. Handy in a street fight, too, if you happen to wear full plate of armor and a 15th century bastard sword...

Mostly i want to share cultural stuff in general, but usually films and music in particular. I like to ramble on and on about justice (or the lack of), politics, history and economics. And i really like to share a joke over a beer or several.

Here's a sample:
two mice girls are discussing their boyfriends. So the first mouse shows the second one a picture of her new fella. the other mouse says: 'But he's not a mouse, he's a bat!' The first mouse is shocked: 'that bastard! He told me he was a pilot!'
It's the cutest one i know, the rest are much, much worse...

And i love to learn new stuff in general, To hear about places i haven't been to, to learn a new cooking trick, just simple stuff like that.
