ABOUT ME

Hi, we are Danny & Kim a dutch couple from the Netherlands travelling the world.

Our story:
In late 2009 Danny decides to quit his job and go on a journey to travel around the world by bike. He planned to leave on the 21 of march 2011 the first day of spring in the netherlands. Late 2010 Danny and Kim fell in love. What about his journey? It took her some time but in the beginning of march 2011 she was ready to take a leap and go with him! She finished her job sold almost everything she owned and joined him some months later on the 18th of august in st. Johann Austria. We reached china after one year and travelled around by train ending our trip in Indonesia. After a meditation course we decided for now it was time to go home.

We have now settled down again in our wonderful and undervalued home city Rotterdam! We live in a borrowed house of a fellow cyclist who is now paddling away to Singapore. Our house is situated on the south bank of the city. This makes the trip down town a wonderful one, crossing one of the beautiful bridges and seeing the Rotterdam skyline in all its glory! We are looking forward to meeting fellow travelers and share stories, experience and more. We look forward to showing you our city and all the special places in it. And most of all we look forward to giving back the wonderful hospitality we found all over our own trail from Europe to Asia.

We can offer you a spare room with on bed. The room is big enough for additional mattresses. We have a good shower, a nice kitchen and laundry facilities. In summer we use our small balcony for late night chats but there are also a lot of wonderful picnic areas available all through the city.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are not able to offer our couch for the next few years because we are travelling. You are always welcome to join us on our way and have a meal with us even if it is a small one or put your tent next to ours.

When we ever settle down we hope to have a room or at least a large couch to accommodate other world travellers.

- Find out that even when you think you can't go on you can always go on a little more

- Finding that Rotterdam, our home town, is still feels like home after 19 months on a bike

Teach, Learn, Share

Learn to be kind and open to the world no matter how different your view, learn how to be self assured and stand by our own values without imposing on others, teach what we know and learn that what we know is false, learn about true hospitality and execute it ourselves, share everything we learn, see and feel along the way with anyone who wants to listen.
