About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Deutsch Gelernt!

ABOUT ME

Motorbikes. Travel. Friends. The three things that make life worth living.

UK-Born, but grew up on the Spanish costas. Most at home flying a kite on a beach, or on the road. Currently returning from the UK Student experience, and at the start of a 3-month work placement in Dortmund, DE.

Perhaps the easiest way to relate, is that I'm the sort of guy that would rather go to a laid-back bar and chill with a few drinks and swap stories than rave it up in a club.

Language is also a big thing - I'd like to break the stereotype of UK folks expecting to speak English wherever they go. If I'm in the UK, I'll speak English. In Germany? I'll make a damn good effort to speak Deutsch!

In the meantime, the life's dream is to buy an old Yamaha or Triumph motorbike, strap a tent and a clean pair of socks to the back and ride it around the world, yet for now, "small" trips across Europe will have to do~

PHILOSOPHY

Off the bike: "Something new? Hey, why not."

On the bike: "Rubber side down, shiny side up!"

Life manifesto: "Don't be a dick."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The best couple of days I've e'er had were spent sleeping on a camp bed with an old-school classical Biker and mapmaker in the black forest - the maps he had were truly works of art

Interests

Concerts and Festivals, Museums, Computers and Tech, travel stories, interesting wine, local produce and food, mythological creatures (Gryphons rock!) and the odd Corona~

Music, Movies, and Books

Book-wise, Jupiter's Travels, Hitch-Hikers guide to the Galaxy, and Redwall are all close to my heart. Anything SiFi/Fantasy-ish is also a good shout, Neil Gaiman, Iain M Banks and co. are right up there.

Films include the Blues Brothers, Good Morning Vietnam, Disney's Robin Hood and Alan Moore's great V for Vendetta

Music, definitely more inclined to the more rock/acoustic end of the spectrum, I love anything with a guitar riff that reaches out and grabs you <3

Were you to look through what I listen to on a daily basis however, it'd be a mixup of whatever was around, be it pop, jazz or classical, I'm not a genre snob!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Chilled out at 1500 feet in a glider alongside a circling hawk, Rode the Nurburgring on a Motorbike that two weeks before wasn't even fit for the road, gift-wrapped a full-size car, survived the Benicassim wind-apocalypse of 2009, and realized just how much I have to thank my parents for teaching me independance. <3

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm practical, I can fix things, and I can also make damned good cocktails!

Mu current mission is to learn German, and in the same vein, I'm more than willing to help with English or Spanish to get a language exchange on the go.

Countries I’ve Visited

Andorra, France, Germany, Italy

Countries I’ve Lived In

Germany, Spain, United Kingdom
