About Me
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing for the usuals... to meet people, exchange ideas, share meals, help out where I can, and get to know the locals.
I'd be happy to cook up some meals, or help out on some big task you've got going on (gardens, building, tearing down, planning, etc.). No problemo.
I'm also happy to venture on my own if you're busy.
Interests
I think I could live off Ethiopian Food. Board Games!! fooling around with gizmos, trying to making things, new ideas - especially those I find difficult, community gardens, bicycles, technology, hanging out in coffee shops, hiking, good conversations, helping people think about starting businesses, repurposing things. systems thinking, taking the train. Space is cool too.
In school I studied International Development (it's sort of like barebones operation of organizations, planning, ) and Philosophy (Logic, Cognitive Science, Scientific Reasoning.. maybe not what you’d expect... I don't know much about Plato or Kant, but that's interesting too). I also studied Agriculture, Project Management, Logistics, Ethnobotany, Entrepreneurship (@ Dal), and some other stuff.

Music, Movies, and Books
Most recently, I've been listening to: Andrew Bird, Caribou, CocoRosie, Colin Stetson, John Cage, Ernst Reijseger, Donovan, Shakey Graves, James Blake, Trent Reznor, Bell Orchestre, Boards of Canada, The Signal (CBC Radio), and some more.
Most recently, I've read: Watership Down, Dune, What do you care what other people think? (Feynman the physicist), The Lean Startup, The Chrysalids, System Dynamics, Some Buckminster Fuller, and some others. I've been reading about Bitcoin (and altcoins too) recently; neat stuff.
Teach, Learn, Share
What I can offer: I'm a generalist and a naturally curious cat, so I might have something to offer. I'm not bad at fixing stuff (including computers). I know how to cook. I can help you think about starting a business, and give that sort of advice, or at least point you in the right direction. I know quite a few board games. Happy to run one.
What I'd like to learn: Languages, cultures, singing lessons (I'm pretty bad right now). More cooking, card tricks, card games (and also how to shuffle properly). I'd also really like to learn: Python, Ruby, Java, and Git.
I'd also like to learn how to climb.
