About Me

CURRENT MISSION

survive and become more Human

ABOUT ME

I wish to be a pleasant and good person but in fact I am an aggressive egoistic coward that seeks own satisfaction, praise and security... ok, maybe it's exagerrated, but who is not like that when it comes to difficult situations? - just think sincerely how were you feeling when something/somebody seriously threatened your beloved job, plans, health, self-asteem, dreams, ideals and so on... nobody can truly love their "enemies" it's as simple as that. OK, I'm telling this just because I don't like powdering and facedes and so didn't want to start with cheap slogans telling how cheerful wonderful and perfect I am :P

I am a PhD student working on vegetation ecology and methodology/philosophy of science. At the moment I am exploring Jerzy Neyman's statistical insights. I have a wonderful wife Maria, she's doing her PhD as well. I enjoy my life very much. I like to be genuine. I have clearly defined views on many things but it doesn't mean that I can't or will not change them if I face sufficient reason for doing this. With age I tend to choose soft chill out such as having walks, seeing places, watching movies or simply chatting. I like to swig vodka occasionally.

PHILOSOPHY

(1) I believe in the beauty of authentic interpersonal relations; (2) love is very simple state of affair; (3) one doesn't need to search for sophisticated adventures to experience existencial profoundity; (4) consumptionism of impressions/ adventure collectioning should't be the goal of life (but there's nothing wrong in being a moderate adventure consumer); (5) thinking of themselves as being "open-minded" or "tolerant" is a self-deception (by the way I tend to believe that the ideal of "tolerance" is deeply misguided what does not mean that one should condemn others); (6)personal God exists (I hope so) and a believer should make efforts to keep alive an interest in Him; (7) "easygoing-ism" is wrong - exacting people with their weaknesses are chellenging and one become more Human by loving them just as they are (one should not confuse "love" with "tolerance" - first is to behave in commited way and the latter to behave like indifferent, if you know what I mean).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
