About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To bring a little laughter as I experience life and gain a little wisdom along the way
ABOUT ME
I'm a fairly laidback and easygoing person who enjoys the variety that life has to offer and I try to approach life with a bit of humor and silliness. When I travel I'm looking to see/do things that I can't do locally, the highlight of my last trip was whale watching from a Zodiac and ocean kayaking (can't do those in OH!). I want to explore new cities, try new foods and talk to people who might have a different perspective on life and travel. I like to dabble in some of the outdoor adventure sports without having worry about imminent death if a miss a turn.
I live in a condo in a downtown historical district and enjoy spending time with my friends. I feel that most of the enjoyment comes from the people that are spending time with. My career is occupational safety and environmental, which can be a bit stressful and time-consuming but for a good purpose. I'm involved in my community, volunteering at the local community art/garden and at downtown organization and events.
PHILOSOPHY
I try to fill my life with interesting, intelligent and fun people, and leave the world a better place when I'm done.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm fairly new to CS, my recent trip to Vancouver and Victoria was a very positive introduction :) My main motivation is to try new situations that are out of my comfort zone, my girlfriend is a CS ambassador so it's been a smooth experience so far...
Interests
I like biking, hiking, exploring new places, reading a good book, watching independent and foreign films (we have an independent theater in walking distance :), trying new microbrews and making beer at home.

Music, Movies, and Books
Most mainstream movies seem relatively uninteresting, we are lucky to have an indepent theater nearby. Recent favorites include "The Girl who..." series, Another Earth and Cedar Rapids. I listen to mostly rock/alternative, reading is usually newspapers and magazines, I also listen to NPR and do books on CD while commuting.
