About Me

ABOUT ME

Relatively social with regular nights out or at home with friends. Cook regularly. Do some regular jogging out in the streets and exercise at home. Play music (when I have time), guitar, armonica, sing, jamming with friends ...
I live home in north Sardegna from June to end of the year then San Francisco from January to May and travel from both places. I have been to many places around the world.

Though I have a car I normally go around on my motorcycles.
I haven't had a TV in 30 years and do not miss it. I watch what I desire online.
I am passionate about sailing and very lucky to have a sail boat in San Francisco that I take out whenever possible with friends or by myself.

PHILOSOPHY

Keep a balance in everything I do and allow some extremes here and there.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am very lucky to have a big family and I'm not looking for another one; so for me all the social networks (including CS) are not a place to look for the structural base of my life, instead a way to connect to other cultures and people from everywhere, share my own experiences and culture.
So to answer the question here, I participate to CS offering a chance to others to visit the places where I live, get to know my culture through my own experiences, my cooking, my music, ...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been hosting friends and friends of friends for many years both in San Francisco and in my hometown Sennori in Sardegna, Italia. The new ones through CS will be more than welcome.

Interests

I am passionate about music (enjoying others playing it as well as playing it myself), very curious about people passions but not really into sports nor TV, a sailor on my own boat in San Francisco or rent one around the world, cook pretty much daily and ALWAYS enjoy a good wine, like dancing elettronica but have fun also with son cubano and others, I regularly exercise in various ways and only in the past couple of years I started including the gym, happy outdoors particularly mountain biking or hiking, scuba diving, jumped from a plane twice (and I mean while the plane was flying) but not sure I'd do that again, I like to do handy things like wood-steel working and such, reading a good book, documentaries, interested in the arts and particularly modern art, sculptures, installations of all kind (have been to Burning Man several times and participated in a installation), world MOMA's, ... well, I do many things ... but often I do just nothing ...

So I'm happy either working on my garden, cooking and hosting friends or playing guitar-harmonica and singing at a bonfire or at home by myself, designing a new home on my computer from a beach bar somewhere in the world, learning new languages (I speak fluently Italian, English and ok Spanish with some slow understanding of French), taking classes on neon signs making, welding, clay works, diesel motors (yes, when you are on a sailboat out in the ocean you need some of this knowledge), ... oh and I completely forgot, I have been on motorcycles since I was 13-14 and always had one or few of them; that is my #1 choice for moving around but I very much like to load up my car and go somewhere (out of the traffic area) with good company and good music or seat on a train and let it take me through and to places or, as mentioned, following the winds on a sailboat, ...

Things I do not naturally resonate with?
- sodas.
- branded stuff.
- flags.
- unnecessary screaming
- I try to avoid hanging out in areas with bears, snakes and such (sure beautiful but) risky and overpowered characters (considering I don't carry/use firearms); I'd rather respect their habitat.

Things that really turn me off?
- lies (unless for un-harming fun) including with politics, advertising of all kinds (including fakes on platforms like this one), ...
- cheap vulgarity.
- disrespect for any being, regardless of any difference.
- violence.
- inability to talk, discuss, communicate, disagree respectfully including a certain religiosity and mind-closeness that actually manifests itself in all sorts of believes, sports, politics, nationalism, racism (and most isms ...), ... Disagreeing is fun, real, entertaining and a learning opportunity!
- cheese on a "fregola ai frutti di mare" ... and more of the such
- reggaeton (thought I enjoyed its early versions in Cuba many years ago)
- autotuner
- the military (tough I understand unfortunately we need some policing as we were not all lucky in life and are not all sane), but look at Costa Rica ...
- wars and all that
- the macho crap (just insecure kids)
I'm sure there is more ...

I'm in general a light hearted and playful person.
