About Me

I left my job and house in June 2018 to travel for as long as I can while I still can - before I have responsibilities like a serious job, mortgage, children or marriage. Things are going great so far!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing to meet people and have interesting experiences that I would not if traveling by means of hotels.

Music, Movies, and Books

I truly listen to all different kinds of music. Heavy in my rotation is vocal jazz from the 1920s-50s (Louis Armstrong, Peggy Lee, Cab Calloway), folk punk (AJJ, Mischief Brew, Paul Baribeau), and hip hop (Wax, Ugly Duckling, Unge Lovene), and I am slowly developing a taste for classical.
I really like cartoons and cartoons that were made for adults, and I prefer watching series to films. When I am living stationary life I also devotedly follow some YouTube channels such as KombiLife, Simone Giertz, and Rare Earth.
Some of my favourite books include A Clockwork Orange, Lolita, and Dharma Bums.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ridden my 125cc Yamaha scooter from the Northwest Territories to the Pacific Ocean, taking as many gravel roads and visiting as many hot springs as possible on the 5000km trip.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am knowledgeable about the Boreal Forest, having been raised on the land in Northern Canada, and would be happy to share things about my part of the world. I would love it if a host could share knowledge about the great outdoors in their area with me as well.
I am interested to learn more about seamanship and architecture, two very romantic hobbies that befit traveling well. (Part of my travels include spending time aboard sailboats.)
I am also looking for new foods to cook (especially vegetarian meals although I am an omnivore), and people to help me practice speaking languages.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am nearly always up to chat and I am more than willing to help with chores such as shoveling the sidewalk, washing dishes after a meal, helping cook, etc.

Countries I’ve Visited

Andorra, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Guatemala, Japan, Netherlands, Panama, Spain, United Kingdom, United States
