ABOUT ME

i'm really into yogurt and chapstick, but not together. i am prone to having mobile dance parties. three things that i'm really into: recycling, american election reform/voting advocacy, and urban design. i also have the biggest nerd crush on frank lloyd wright.

even though i was an english "teacher," i frequently forgo the capitalization rule.

i am deathly allergic to cats so please please please please tell me if you have a cat and it's not listed on your profile. but dogs, dogs on the other hand...i'll be your dog's new best friend.

PHILOSOPHY

I'd rather be fat and happy than skinny and sad. just kidding. sort of.

kicking parked hummers and SUVs until their alarm goes off, baking, dancing to '80s music, recycling, getting upset with bad urban design, wikipedia-ing, reading free newspapers and finding free things to do in the cities of said newspapers, public transportation, getting lost and somehow winding up in places i'm not supposed to be, cooking, going into grocery stores in foreign countries, open air markets, and throwing dinner parties.

books - the unbearable lightness of being, anything by nick hornby and dostoevsky, the old neighborhood:what we lost in the great suburban migration, atonement, american pastoral, the golden compass, the world according to garp

music - i like manymany things but am a particular sucker for: passion pit, andrew bird, phoenix, mumford & sons, otis redding, broken social scene, the national, mgmt, talking heads, billie holiday, ella fitzgerald, dinah washington, kings of convenience, the whitest boy alive, nat king cole, madeleine peyroux, etc etc, cesaria evora, deathcab for cutie, damien rice, david gray, basia bulat, and clearly anything '80s and early '90s related.

And R. Kelly is a genius.

I once celebrated New Year's Eve dancing to the Notorious BIG on the foot of a seven story tall Optimus Prime Statue and ate jelly beans with john popper...but not at the same time. (unfortunately)
