About Me

***** JUST MOVED TO NEW PLACE - BACK TO CS HOSTING *****

CURRENT MISSION
To learn about myself while exploring the world!

ABOUT ME

Well, I'm a very active person, Love to make friends and learn about new cultures. I'm anxious to travel all around the world. My first step was in 2007 carnival, when I spend a week traveling in Europe.
I like to read, learn new languages ( Actually I'm studying German) and meet my friends.
I try to do something exciting everyday and I wonder a lot about everything!
Ah Also I'm always in good mood and I have a Ironic and sarcastic sense of humor.

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is:
Life is do it!
I'm always interested in meet new people and know more about the world. I think that we understand the life through experience exchange.
To me every person is a world to be discovered.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm able to host but please contact me one week in advance. I believe that in one month I'll be open again. I like to participate by offering my couch to surfers and I try to make my guests to fall in love with my city. In the future I would like to help spreading the ideas of couch surfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couch experience was four years ago in a friend couch. In the meantime I had the opportunity to show parts of Rio to visitors.
My first experience through CS was in June/09 in Hamburg, Germany. A couple hosted me (Ted and Julia) and I think that it so perfect that I couldn't expect more. Also I had the opportunity to be surf in Berlin, Poznan (Poland) and also I'll never forget the München group!
My first guest was Katie from US and I'm glad she enjoyed Rio. Hosting someone made me understand better how is like to be a guest by someone.
So far I hosted twelve surfers, which I hadn't many problems and I'm glad of my "photo wall" with my guests (see my photos).

Interests

I'm interested to make new friends!
I would like to show my city and walk around the surroundings with anyone that is interested to come to Rio de Janeiro.
Also I'm very keen to know more about Germany in general, getting to know about it's history, culture, arts and anything else.
If you want to learn Portuguese, Brazilian culture or how to be a tourist in Rio de Janeiro please contact me! I have a specific interest in different small stories , that usually are fun. Sometimes I'm able to spend a whole night just listening to then (while drinking some wine)

My favorites are:
Waking life, Amelie, Fight Club, Tropa de Elite, Good bye Lenin, to name few.
I listen to every kind of music, except country and some specific from Brazil. My favorites are MPB, Rock and Jazz.
I Have a special care for : Franz Ferdinand, Cardigans, Deep Purple, The Killers, Cazuza, Caetano Veloso, Mozart, Dizzi Gilespie ... hum ... there are so many!
Actually I'm reading world literature. I've just read "Letter to father" from Franz Kafka (which I admire) and my next is from Dostoevsky.
I like a lot Shakespeare.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled alone to Europe in the carnival for eight days! (without speaking a word in the language the countries I traveled)
Once I gone to a funk party in Rio...
Also I travelled to New York, bought a lot of things and I didn't spend a cent of my pocket ;-)
The last one: I went to a Nature Park in Germany in the middle of nowhere, alone...

In Paris I learned that sometimes I must keep my mouth closed: It`s cold there in the winter... :-)
Well, basically I can teach:
+a lot of computer related topics
+Portuguese Language
+Brazilian way of life, culture and politics.
+how to be a tourist and be safe in Rio de Janeiro
