About Me

I have lived in California my whole life but am about to move to Montreal. I just recently became a doctor of geology/geochemistry. I like to ride my bike. I am an amateur at French, German, Spanish, piano, and guitar, but enjoy practicing all of those things very much. I'm probably a little bit introverted, but by no means unfriendly or antisocial!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet interesting people when I travel, and to host interesting people when I am not traveling.

A friend told me to try it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I just finished a PhD, the most amazing and difficult thing I've done so far in life.

I just biked 300 miles in five days fully loaded with camping gear and having not trained beforehand at all.

I did terrifying field work in a huge secret cave in the California wilderness. I did other field work in a gold mine a mile underground, also terrifying.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a thing or two about: Science and philosophy in general, geology and geochemistry in specific. Bikes in general, vintage and touring bikes in specific.

I'd love to learn more about: anything you care about.
